Solar Car Races involve solar electric vehicles powered by solar photovoltaic panels on the surface of the car. After the Swiss Tour de Sol, the first solar competition which took place in 1985, other similar races have been organised in Europa, in the US and in Australia. Solar Car Races are often scheduled by Universities or High Schools, in order to involve students in prototypical projects. Also several private companies have decided to be partner in those competitions.
