Formula SAE (or Formula Student) is a competition organized by SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) International. Born in 1981, Formula SAE is intended for teams of students with the aim of involving them in a prestigious event. The competition focuses on engineering efficiency tests and design and production evaluations of small racing cars designed and produced in partnership with manufacturers. Today, Formula SAE is held all over the world and schedules ten races each year. It is managed by SAE International, in cooperation with national associations of car engineers.
