The car Zeroid X1 developed by QEV Technologies for the FIA RX2e Championship will be the one used by WRX drivers to compete in the last two rounds.
The last two races of the Championship will be in South Africa and Hong Kong.
The Rallycross promoter has confirmed in a statement that, after the cancellation of the last three rounds – in Lydden Hill, Mettet and Estering – the Championship will resume in South Africa, but with RX2e cars.
The investigation regarding the fire that ended with both Special ONE cars burnt down is still ongoing, so the Championship will resume using the cars developed by QEV Technologies.
At least eight drivers will participate in the last two WRX rounds in South Africa and Hong Kong, with the multiple world Champion Johan Kristoffersson among them, as confirmed by the Rallycross promoter in their statement.
The Zeroid X1 has been the official car of RX2e Championship since its launch in 2021, and these three seasons they have proven to be fast, completely reliable and free from technical issues.
We’re very happy to accept the opportunity that is being offered to us, to be able to demonstrate that the Zeroid X1 is up to the performance and reliability required to run these two races with the RX1 drivers – says Joan Orús, CEO of QEV Technologies. We are trying to look for future solutions together with the promotor and the FIA – concludes.
