UK Government, confirms that the Plug-in Taxi Grant will continue for an additional financial year at a rate of £6,000.

This is a positive outcome for the taxi trade following many months of discussions, further supporting its transition from diesel to electric.

LEVC would like to take this opportunity to thank the UK Government for its ongoing engagement with our business and the taxi trade on this issue, and the continued commitment to supporting the electrification of our iconic industry. Over the last 12 months, LEVC has met with representatives from the Department for Transport, OZEV, the Department for Business and Trade, TfL, and HM Treasury to discuss the Plug-in Taxi Grant and the unique challenges drivers face, and how best to support this vital industry to meet transport and decarbonisation needs.

Più della metà della flotta di Black Cab di Londra è elettricaLEVC’s TX, coupled with Government ambition and the grant, has made decarbonisation within the taxi trade a reality – with more than half of London’s black cabs now zero-emission capable. This incredible uptake means that millions of passengers can access state-of-the-art, clean, reliable, and accessible transportation as they move around our cities.

LEVC will continue to engage with the Government to highlight issues that the trade faces and demonstrate how working alongside our industry can help to further accelerate the adoption of clean and accessible public mobility solutions. Ongoing Government support towards the transition to zero carbon mobility technologies will be essential if the UK is to deliver on its ambitions to decarbonise the UK’s transport network.
