On October 16, 17, and 18, 2026,the ECOdolomitesGT returns to the Dolomites; it is a road-based regularity and efficiency e-rally reserved for road-legal electric vehicles.
The race counts towards two championships—one international and one Italian:the International FIA ecoRally Cup and the ACI-Sport Italian Alternative Energies Championship.
The international championship – 11 rounds in the 2026 calendar, in Spain, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Slovenia, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, Great Britain, China and Italy – reaches its final round in the Dolomites, where the overall winners will be decided.
The start and finish legs of the ECOdolomitesGT – organised by the Automobile Club Trento with RaceBioConcept – BioDrive Academy (GeneralBioConcept PLUS Srl) and the support of ECOmove & LETSmove – are all set in Primiero San Martino di Castrozza, Trentino. From here, the competing cars head towards evocative corners of the Dolomites in Trentino and Veneto, crossing several Dolomite passes. Among the places passed through are Predazzo (TN), Moena (TN) and Agordo (BL), as well as all the localities of the Primiero, San Martino di Castrozza, Vanoi and Mis area, with the Pale di San Martino dominating the scenery.
The competition –one of the world’s most important international electric-car test-drives– is open to electric cars approved for normal road use. Entries are open until 1:00 pm on Tuesday 29 September.
Participation is open to everyone: drivers who love regularity events, but also owners of electric cars keen to put themselves and their own car to the test.Each crew must be made up of two people holding a driving licence and an appropriate ACI-Sport/FIA regularity licence. This licence – obtainable with a valid medical certificate for non-competitive sporting activity – can be requested from ACI Delegations, or on site at the time of entry, thanks to a service made available by the organisation (through the Automobile Club Trento and the ACI “Lavalsugana” Delegation).
The Automobile Club d’Italia is increasingly focused on becoming a body dedicated to mobility in general, and to sustainable mobility in particular” –states Fiorenzo Dalmeri, President of ACI Trento-. That is why an initiative such as the ECOdolomitesGT continues to attract the attention of the Automobile Club di Trento which, for 2026 too, will once again be its direct organiser, alongside the historic organisers: an initiative that is increasingly establishing itself as a benchmark for the sector, locally, nationally and internationally. Whatever form this project takes as it evolves, the ECOdolomitesGT will continue to inspire new initiatives for sustainable mobility, which ACI Trento intends to continue supporting through the same partnership and, strengthened by this important experience, into the future as well.
The numbers

To take part in the ECOdolomitesGT 2026, all you need is a ‘road-legal’ electric car built after 01.01.2020, capable of covering, with a reasonable safety margin, at least 300 km of mountain driving without needing to recharge in between. There will be 4 sectors, split into three legs totalling around 530 kilometres in total, with a maximum of around 260 kilometres between one recharge and the next for electric cars. Around twenty special stages – ‘Regularity & Consumption Stages’ – for a total of around 320 kilometres during which drivers will have to strive to maintain specific set average speeds laid down by the regulations, measured to a tenth of a second. They will also have to commit to consuming as little energy as possible, according to telemetry measured to a tenth of a per cent of the “State of Charge”, using a specific formula that also takes into account the consumption approval cycle WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) of each car entered in the event, ensuring that crews compete on a level playing field, regardless of the car they are racing with.
We are delighted to join forces once again with the Automobile Club Trento and ECOmove & LETSmove in the demanding but exciting organisation of the International FIA ecoRally Cup round of the Italian Alternative Energy Championship (ACI-Sport) – Montanucci continues – recalling that the 2026 edition will also celebrate 20 years of eco-rallying at international level, looking with passion and curiosity at how this event and this sector will evolve in the near future.
Electric car charging
The electric cars will be recharged thanks to an exclusive “Charge Park”, powered by electricity from renewable sources supplied by Primiero Energia, set up for the occasion in the hamlet of Fiera di Primiero, in Via Fiume, opposite the Town Hall of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza.
The programme
The event consists of an afternoon of technical and sporting scrutineering(during which cars and race and entry documents will be checked, and crews will be given the graphics to apply to their cars before the start),a Friday evening leg in which crews will cover around 150 km,a Saturday full day of racing (over a route of just over 250 km), and aSunday morning leg of a further 120 km or so.
The logistical hub of the event will be the EDGT Charge-Park, Primiero San Martino di Castrozza, Via Fiume (Piazza del Municipio). Here, on Friday 16 October from 09:00 to 13:00, the pre-event administrative and technical scrutineering will take place, and the first car will start from here at 16:00.
The finish line will be crossed from 12:00 (first car) on Sunday 18 October, again in the centre of the Fiera di Primiero hamlet, close to the EDGT Charge-Park.
The results, compiled by Clerk of the Course Stefano Torcellan, President of the ACI Sport Sustainable Mobility Commission, will be published online at www.ECOdolomitesGT.org on Sunday 18 October at 14:30. This will be followed, at 15:30, by the prize-giving ceremony in the Conference Hall of the Palazzo delle Miniere in the “Fiera” locality of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza.
The prizes
Once again in 2026, prize-winners will receive special trophies crafted by sculptor Renzo Zeni from the weakened, surviving trees of the 2018 Vaia storm, now further threatened by the pest known as the bark beetle: the latest threat to the health of the local woodlands. Hand-carved in the same aesthetic form as the Dolomites, they pay tribute to the places where the event is held and serve as a reminder of one or more local consequences of climate change, raising awareness of environmental protection.
