New edition of ECOdolomitesGT

Nuova edizione di ECOdolomitesGT

A new edition of ECOdolomitesGT 2025, a regularity and fuel-efficient e-rally taking place in the Dolomites, will be held on November 7, 8, and 9, 2025.

The competition is valid for two championships: the International “Bridgestone FIA Eco-Rally Cup” and the Italian Alternative Energy Championship ACI-Sport

The international championship – a total of 13 competitions in the 2025 Calendar, in Spain (two dates), Czech Republic, Portugal (two dates), Slovenia, Belgium, Iceland, Great Britain, Switzerland, China, Principality of Monaco, Italy – returns again this year, for Italy, to the Dolomites, with a spectacular conclusion.

Nuova edizione di ECOdolomitesGTThe start and finish stages of the ECOdolomitesGT – organized by the Automobile Club Trento with RaceBioConcept – BioDrive Academy and the support of ECOmove & LETSmove – are all set in Primiero San Martino di Castrozza, in Trentino, touching suggestive corners of the Dolomites in Trentino, Veneto and South Tyrol, crossing several passes, from Rolle to Sella, from Gardena to Campolongo, from Valles to Cereda, among others. Among the localities crossed also, among the many, Predazzo (TN), Moena (TN), Selva di Val Gardena (BZ), Agordo (BL), as well as all the localities of the Primiero, San Martino di Castrozza, Vanoi and Mis area, with the Pale di San Martino dominating the scenery. New entry for 2025, the town of Corvara in the province of Bolzano, as a stage on the second day of the race.

The competition – one of the most important international test-drives of electric cars all over the world – can take part electric cars approved for normal road circulation, in addition to the hybrid cars admitted in the special local section called “Hybrid Challenge Cup”.

Nuova edizione di ECOdolomitesGTParticipation is within everyone’s reach: drivers who love regularity but also owners of electric or hybrid cars eager to test themselves together with their car. Each crew must consist of two people in possession of a driving licence and an appropriate ACI-Sport/FIA regularity license. The latter document can be requested – with a valid medical certificate for non-competitive sporting activity – in the ACI Delegations but also on site, at the time of registration, thanks to a service made available by the organization (through the Automobile Club Trento and the ACI “Lavalsugana” Delegation).

The Automobile Club of Italy has always paid great attention, especially in recent years, to competitions dedicated to zero-emission cars – said Fiorenzo Dalmeri, president of the Automobile Club Trento, the organizing body of ECOdolomitesGT 2025. This is why – he continues – an initiative such as the ECOdolomitesGT has attracted the attention of the Automobile Club of Trento which, also for 2025, on the Centenary of ACI Trento, will be its direct organizer, in staff with the historical organizers: a very important initiative that consolidates itself as a reference point in the sector, locally, nationally and internationally.

The numbers

Mario Montanucci Pignatelli, coordinator of the Organizing Committee – and Team leader of the RaceBioConcept Team & BioDrive Academy, concept originator entity, as well as co-organizer together with ECOmove & LetsMove:

There are again 4 sectors, divided into two stages that encompass about 450 kilometers in total, with a maximum of about 260 kilometers between one recharge and another for electric cars. About twenty special stages for a total of about 260 kilometers, during which the drivers will have to compete again this year to maintain the average specifications imposed by the regulations – measured to the tenth of a second – consuming as little as possible, according to telemetry carried out to the tenth of a  percent of kWh, with a specific formula that also takes into account the “WLTP” (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) consumption homologation cycle of each car entered in the race, to ensure that the crews play an equal race, regardless of the car with which they participate.

In the year of the centenary of the Automobile Club Trento and the twentieth anniversary of our Team – continues Montanucci – we are particularly pleased to join once again the Automobile Club Trento and ECOmove & LETSmove in the tiring but exciting organization of the International Bridgestone FIA Eco Rally Cup event which – is now official!  – will award the International Title still under discussion, in the final confrontation between the Czech crew Zdarsky-Nabelek and the one racing under the San Marino flag represented by the Guerrini-Prusak crew: a challenge to the last tenth of a second and the last tenth of a kWh percentage!.

Nuova edizione di ECOdolomitesGTElectric car charging

The electric cars will be recharged thanks to an exclusive “Charge Park”, powered by electricity from renewable sources supplied by the ACSM / Primiero Energia Group, set up for the occasion in the hamlet of Fiera di Primiero, in Via Fiume, in front of the Town Hall of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza.

The Hybrid Challenge Cup

The 2025 edition of the ECOdolomitesGT also includes the special independent competition, of local value, called the Hybrid Challenge Cup, reserved for hybrid vehicles, which will travel the same route together with the cars competing in the Italian and international championships.  MHEV (mild hybrid electric vehicles), HEV (hybrid electric vehicles), PHEV (plug in hybrid electric vehicles) and EREV (extended range electric vehicles / series-hybrid vehicles) with an endothermic engine powered by diesel or petrol are eligible for this challenge, according to the same registration procedures and deadline, but a dedicated entry form.

The awards

Nuova edizione di ECOdolomitesGTThe winners will receive, also in the 2025 edition, special trophies that the sculptor Renzo Zeni made from the weakened trees that survived the 2018 Vaia storm, but now attacked, due to their condition, by the parasite known as bark-beetle: the latest threat to the health of the local forests. Handcrafted in the same aesthetic shape as the Dolomites, they represent a tribute to the places where the event takes place and a way to remember one or more local consequences of climate change, raising awareness of environmental protection.

The programme

The logistical hub of the event will be the EDGT Charge-Park, Primiero San Martino di Castrozza, Via Fiume (Townhall Square).

Here the administrative and technical checks before the race will take place on Friday November 7th from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm and from here the first car will start at 9:00 am on Saturday 8 November.

The finish line is scheduled for Sunday November 9th starting at 4:00 pm (first car), always in the center of the Fiera di Primiero hamlet, near the EDGT Charge-Park.
