The Race

ECOdolomitesGT 2026: dieci anni di evoluzione, guardando al futuroThe route – starting and finishing in the Trentino town of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza, with the Pale di San Martino peaks dominating the landscape – allowed crews to test their vehicles’ performance on particularly demanding mountain roads.

All the ‘plug-in’ cars –explained Mario Montanucci Pignatelli– coordinator of the Organizing Committee and team leader of the RaceBioConcept Team – BioDrive Academy (GeneralBioConcept PLUS Srl), the concept originator and co-organizer alongside ECOmove & LetsMove – delivered excellent performance, handling elevation changes, travel times, and recharging requirements without any issues. There were over twenty special stages, during which drivers had to adhere to specific average speeds mandated by the regulations – measured to the tenth of a second – while simultaneously striving to minimize energy consumption.

In fact, the competition not only rewards the competitors’ skill in following the times and routes set out in the roadbook, but  also recognizes the quality of their driving style.  This, combined with thevehicle’s technological efficiency, forms a  “performance index” used to calculate the final scores.

Energy consumption was determined through innovative remote-sensing methods, applying a specific FIA formula that also accounts for the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) homologation data for each registered vehicle.
