The topic of fast charging during races in Formula E has been around for a long time and the rumors of an imminent activation of the systems are cooling down.
Originally promised for the first season of Gen3, that has been last year, the tests carried out by different teams and in different locations have so far not reached the minimum reliability necessary to be implemented in the race.
At the beginning of this year’s Season 10, already in the troubled Valencia tests we saw the charging tests carried out by the various teams in the pits; but the result is still not satisfactory despite Formula E having expressed its intention to start this new era as early as the Misano race.
The Long Ear of Electric Motor News heard in Tokyo that this initiative planned for Misano has been definitively shelved and according to rumors, Berlin would be the new frontier.
The topic is very delicate and at the same time very interesting for the entire automotive industry, which would be favorable to the possibility of developing rapid charging systems for road vehicles.
At the moment, from what we managed to understand at Big Sight in Tokyo… there is nothing definitive yet, even if there are many who are skeptical about a possible implementation of fast charging in the race during this Season 10.
