BYD Seal Launched in Nepal

BYD announced recently the launch of the highly anticipated BYD Seal in Nepal, in collaboration with its local authorized distributor, Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd.

The car will be available in three versions (Dynamic, Premium, and Performance) and four standard colors.

This is the third pure electric passenger vehicle BYD launched in Nepal, after the BYD Atto 3 and the BYD Dolphin.

Built on the advanced e-Platform 3.0, the BYD Seal is a sporty sedan equipped with innovative CTB (Cell-to-Body) technology and iTAC technology. It offers rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations, double wishbone front suspension, and rear five-link suspension, providing exceptional comfort, safety, and performance.

Notably, in 2023, the model was awarded a five-star safety rating from both Euro NCAP and the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP), affirming the BYD Seal has been tested according to the latest, most stringent test method to date.

The BYD e6 was incorporated into the Nepalese presidential fleet

As a committed advocate of green mobility, BYD has a longstanding presence in Nepal. As early as 2018, BYD’s e6 model was incorporated into the Nepalese presidential fleet, serving as the vehicle for the President and multiple government officials. In October 2022, BYD officially entered Nepal’s passenger car market, offering new choices to local consumers and subsequently launching three popular models.

At present, BYD has 12 showrooms, 9 service centres, and 15 charge points across Nepal with further expansion plans underway. Cimex Inc. has been offering BYD Atto 3 – Nepal’s First Sporty Electric SUV and BYD Dolphin – an agile, versatile, and intelligent hatchback in Nepal, catering to various customer preferences in the market.

The local government is currently implementing various measures to promote electric vehicles, leveraging the country’s abundant hydropower resources. Aiming for a transition to electric transportation, the government plans to build an additional 500 charging stations along major highways and urban areas. In response to the growing demand for green transportation, BYD will continue to introduce new energy vehicles tailored to local market needs. By partnering with high-quality local collaborators, BYD aims to enhance its sales and after-sales service system, providing comprehensive new energy solutions to the public and accelerating the country’s progress towards green mobility.
