BYD, in collaboration with its Colombian partner Motorysa, launched in South American country its second BYD Ocean Series, the full electric sedan Seal.
At the inauguration ceremony, the Cinese company offered audiences an immersive ocean-themed experience and formally unveiled the virtual showroom “BYD World” in Colombia. Nearly 200 guests were present to experience the perfect blend of electrification technology and virtual interaction.
Mr. Wang Zhiwei, the Sales Manager of BYD Americas, remarked:
This year, BYD became the first automaker globally to roll off its 5 millionth new energy vehicle. As one of the earliest participants and promoters in the new energy vehicle industry, the BYD brand remains committed to technological innovation to fulfill people’s aspirations for a better life. In Colombia, we will continue our close collaboration with our local partner, Motorysa, to introduce more new energy vehicle products and technologies, further promoting the green transportation evolution in the country.
The BYD Seal is the world’s first production model equipped with CTB (cell-to-body) Technology. Sitting on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, the model achieves new breakthroughs in safety, handling, and efficiency. The BYD Seal boasts an impressive pure electric cruising range of 520 km under WLTC conditions. The BYD Seal epitomizes BYD’s evolved Ocean aesthetics design, drawing inspiration from the Ocean X concept car. With its low ground clearance, the model emphasizes its sporty DNA.
The four-wheel drive version can easily accelerate from 0 – 100 km in just 3.8 seconds, a truly exhilarating driving experience. The model also features the iTAC (intelligent Torque Adaption Control) System, ensuring a smooth and secure driving experience.
Since 2020, BYD, in partnership with Motorysa, has continuously enriched the new energy vehicle lineup in Colombia and strengthened its dealer network. Currently, BYD’s new energy passenger vehicles are available in stores across four major cities in Colombia: Bogota, Medellin, Cali, and Pereira, with a total of seven dealerships. The additional five stores are anticipated to open by the end of this year.
