La stella nascente della Svezia, Felix Rosenqvist, sarà il partner del tedesco Nick Heidfeld nella terza stagione nel Mahindra Racing del FIA di Formula E Championship.

Erreà è stata nominata come fornitrice ufficiale dell’abbigliamento della squadra.

Mahindra Racing ha accumulato quasi 2200 chilometri di test della sua sfidante M3Electro per 15 giorni nel mese di Luglio.

Donington Park, Gran Bretagna. 22 Agosto 2016. La Mahindra Racing Formula E Team ha annunciato oggi che il pilota svedese Felix Rosenqvist si unirà a Nick Heidfeld come parte del rivisto schieramento piloti per la terza stagione della squadra nel competitivo campionato di Formula E.

Rosenqvist, 24, raggiunge Mahindra Racing a seguito di una curva di crescita impressionante nel mondo dei motori, che lo ha visto vincere il FIA Formula 3 European Championship 2015 e più recentemente, nel mese di luglio, arrivare secondo assoluto nella 24 Ore di Spa.

Rosenqvist ed Heidfeld hanno preso gusto della nuova M3Electro, che farà il suo debutto in gara nell’apertura della terza stagione a Hong Kong nel mese di ottobre. Il duo si propone di costruire il successo della squadra dalla seconda stagione di Formula E. Dopo aver segnato due podi e sette volte essere finite nei punti con le due vetture, Mahindra Racing ha speranze ancora più elevate per la stagione tre.

Mahindra Racing ha completato quasi 2200 chilometri di prove in oltre 15 giorni di test nel mese di Luglio in diversi tracciati in Spagna.

Felix Rosenqvist ha detto,

“Sono entusiasta di raggiungere Mahindra Racing in questo momento emozionante. Correre in Formula E sarà qualcosa di veramente nuovo per me. E’ un passo verso l’ignoto, ma ho avuto un caloroso benvenuto da Mahindra Racing e ho un forte ed esperto compagno di squadra come Nick. Ho provato la macchina e già non vedo l’ora di intensificare i preparativi nei due test pre-stagione a Donington. Io amo le nuove sfide e questa di sicuro sarà una sfida enorme. Sono pienamente consapevole che ci vorrà del tempo per imparare il mestiere delle corse elettriche così come la tecnologia in Formula E che è molto diversa da quello a cui sono abituato. Hai bisogno di essere veloce, come sempre, ma bisogna anche essere intelligenti e gestire un basso consumo energetico. Trovo anche il calendario altamente emozionante. Ci saranno molte corse su piste stradali in alcuni luoghi incredibili, e non vedo l’ora di iniziare a Hong Kong.”

Il pilota tedesco Heidfeld continua con Mahindra Racing per la stagione tre dopo aver ottenuto il primo podio allo stadio di Pechino ePrix nel 2015. Egli è stato determinante per lo sviluppo della M3Electro ed ha completato oltre la metà della distanza percorsa in fase di test.

Nick Heidfeld ha detto:

Il team si è affermato come leader nel coinvolgimento dei fan e la sua ultima iniziativa è stata una gara per la livrea chiamato #DrivenByDesign. Il design del vincitore diventerà la nuova livrea della vettura M3Electro della squadra e sarà rivelata prima del primo test ufficiale di pre-stagione a Donington Park, Gran Bretagna, dove Rosenqvist ed Heidfeld condivideranno i compiti di guida delle quattro vetture del team.

La stagione 2016-17 del FIA Formula E Championship inizia il 9 Ottobre a Hong Kong.

Mahindra Racing reveals new names for season three of Formula E

Sweden’s rising star Felix Rosenqvist set to partner German Nick Heidfeld in Mahindra Racing’s third season in the FIA Formula E Championship.

Erreà named official team apparel and merchandise partner.

Mahindra Racing amassed nearly 2,200km in testing its M3Electro challenger during 15 days in July.

Donington Park, UK. 22nd August 2016. The Mahindra Racing Formula E Team today announced that Swedish driver Felix Rosenqvist will join Nick Heidfeld as part of a revised driver line-up for the team’s third season in the competitive FIA Formula E Championship.

Rosenqvist, 24, joins Mahindra Racing on the back of an impressive growth curve in motorsport which saw him win the 2015 FIA Formula 3 European Championship. More recently, in July, he came second overall in the Spa 24 Hours.

Rosenqvist and Heidfeld have already acquired a taste for the new M3Electro, which will make its race debut at the season three opener in Hong Kong in October. The duo aims to build on the team’s success from the second season of Formula E. After scoring two podiums and seven double-points finishes, Mahindra Racing has even higher hopes for season three.

Mahindra Racing completed nearly 2,200km of running over 15 days of testing in July across multiple tracks in Spain.

Felix Rosenqvist said,

“I’m thrilled to join Mahindra Racing at this exciting time. Racing in Formula E will be something genuinely brand new to me. It’s a step into the unknown, but I’ve had a very warm welcome by Mahindra Racing and I have a strong and experienced team-mate in Nick. I’ve tested the car already and I look forward to intensifying our preparations during the two pre-season tests at Donington. I love new challenges and this is going to be a massive one, for sure. I’m fully aware that it will take some time to learn the trade of electric racing, as the technology in Formula E is so different to what I’m accustomed. You need to be fast, as always, but you also have to be clever and energy-efficient. I also find the calendar highly exciting. We’ll be racing on street tracks in some incredible locations, and I can’t wait for Hong Kong.”

German driver Heidfeld continues with Mahindra Racing for season three after delivering the team’s first ever podium finish at the Beijing ePrix in 2015. He has been instrumental in the development of the M3Electro and completed over half of the distance covered in testing.

We had very productive private testing sessions with the M3Electro last month and are prepared for the challenges ahead. The winner’s design will become the new livery for the team’s M3Electro and will be revealed later today prior to the first official pre-season test at Donington Park, UK, where Rosenqvist and Heidfeld will share driving duties in the team’s four cars.

The 2016-17 FIA Formula E Championship starts on 9 October in Hong Kong.
