New York, USA. 14th July, 2017. Today Leonardo DiCaprio and Fisher Stevens toured the Formula E garages on the eve of this weekend’s inaugural Formula E Qualcomm New York City ePrix! This historic ePrix marks the first time that motor-sport racing has ever come to the five boroughs, something only possible because of Formula E’s quiet, electric cars and commitment to sustainability!
The two met with Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag and learned about the racing circuit, the way the cars are built and how the races are run. The cars can run up to 140 mph with a noise level of 80 decibels (similar to a road car running at about 70 mph).
The New York City races are rounds 9 and 10 of the 12 race circuit, making this weekend’s rounds some of the most exciting of the season, as drivers compete for the finishing top spots in the championship.
