Berlino, Germania. 18 Marzo 2016. Il Berlin City Hall ha ospitato oggi la conferenza stampa ufficiale di apertura del 2016 FIA Formula E Berlino ePrix.

Durante l’evento, cui hanno partecipato il senatore per l’Economia, Tecnologia e Ricerca, Cornelia Yzer, Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag e il pilota del Team Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport, Daniel Abt, è stata presentata la nuova pista vicino ad Alexanderplatz con la nuova campagna creativa.

La ricevuta del permesso di tornare a correre per le strade di Berlino il 21 maggio, permette il Motorsport di tornare sulle strade di Berlino per la prima volta in quasi 20 anni. Abbracciando la prima serie di corse di auto elettriche al mondo, Berlino ha dimostrato il suo impegno ad essere una delle capitali più importanti in termini di mobilità elettrica, sostenibilità e innovazione.

All’evento hanno partecipato anche il Direttore dei Circuiti dei Campionati dalla FIA, Frederic Bertrand, che ha evidenziato le principali caratteristiche del nuovo tracciato, che è stato creato quando la sede del Berlino ePrix 2015 – l’Aeroporto di Tempelhof – è risultata non disponibile.

Il CEO di Formula E Alejandro Agag ha detto:

“Sono assolutamente felice di essere oggi a Berlino. Per la Formula E ha senso investire in tutto il duro lavoro per la realizzazione di questa gara e noi abbiamo affrontato le sfide di spostamento della gara dopo un grande successo del Berlino ePrix nel 2015. La nuova sede è in un altro contesto iconico, con edifici storici e la torre della televisione come background. Tutte le persone coinvolte nella serie dovranno lavorare duramente per assicurare che i fan di Berlino siano trattati nel miglior modo per un evento fantastico”.

Cornelia Yzer, Senatrice per l’Economia, la Tecnologia e la Ricerca, ha dichiarato:

“Ringraziamo Formula E per il grande sforzo nel portare una tale gara emozionante ai cittadini di Berlino, nonché ad un pubblico televisivo globale. Dopo il successo a Tempelhof nel 2015, i fan possono ora condividere l’emozione della mobilità elettrica nel cuore della capitale, in uno scenario ancora più tedesco”.

Il pilota Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport, Daniel Abt ha detto:

“Grazie a Formula E ed alla città di Berlino per rendere questa gara possibile, ho dato un’occhiata al circuito questa mattina – è un posto incredibile che creerà un’atmosfera assolutamente unica da gara attraverso.. le strade della nostra capitale. Sarà un sogno che si avvera. Sono sicuro che la gente di Berlino seguirà la Formula E e, naturalmente, spero che molti di loro verranno a tifare per me e per tutta la squadra Abt”.

Formula E launches 2016 Berlin ePrix

Berlin, Germany. 18^th March 2016. Berlin City Hall today hosted the official opening press conference for the 2016 FIA Formula E Berlin ePrix.

During the event, attended by Senator for Economics, Technology and Research, Cornelia Yzer, Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag and Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport driver, Daniel Abt, the new track near Alexanderplatz was presented along with the new creative campaign.

The receipt of the permit to go racing on the streets of Berlin on May 21, takes motorsport back onto the roads of Berlin for the first time in almost 20 years. By embracing the world’s first all-electric racing series, Berlin has demonstrated its commitment on being one of the leading capitals in terms of e-mobility, sustainability and innovation.

The event was also attended by FIA Director of Circuit Championships, Frederic Bertrand, who highlighted the main characteristics of the new venue, which was created when the venue for the 2015 Berlin ePrix – Tempelhof Airport – became unavailable.

Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag said: “I am absolutely delighted to be in Berlin today. For Formula E it makes sense to invest all the hard work in making this race happen, and we face the challenges of relocating the race after such a successful Berlin ePrix in 2015. The new venue is in another iconic setting, with historic buildings and the TV tower in the background. Everyone involved in the series will be working hard to ensure that the fans in Berlin are treated to a fantastic event.”

Cornelia Yzer, the Senator for Economics, Technology and Research said:

“We thank Formula E for the great effort in bringing such an exciting race to the Berlin citizens as well as a global television audience. Following the successful launch at Tempelhof in 2015, even more German fans can now share the thrill of electromobility in the heart of the capital.”

Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport driver, Daniel Abt said:

“Thanks to Formula E and the City of Berlin for making this race possible. I had a look at the circuit this morning – it’s an amazing place which will create an absolutely unique atmosphere. Racing through the streets of our capital will make a dream come true. I’m sure the Berlin people will like Formula E and of course I hope a lot of them will come to cheer me and the whole Abt team.”
