Punta del Este, Uruguay. 18 Dicembre 2015. Dragon Racing si aggiungerà all’elenco di costruttori del FIA Formula E Championship a partire dalla terza stagione.

Il team con sede in California, USA, attualmente unico team cliente che impiega il powertrain fornito da Venturi, sarà uno dei costruttori che avrà le migliori condizioni per l’inizio della stagione 2016-2017.

Nella conferenza stampa pre-gara, il Direttore Commerciale del Dragon Racing Team di Formula E, Oriol Servià, ha detto:

“Semplicemente vogliamo avere il controllo totale delle vetture.Finora dipendiamo da Venturi che ci fornisce e ci ha fornito un ottimo powertrain, ma vogliamo avere il nostro proprio pacchetto per riuscire a vincere”

Servià ha anche avuto parole di elogio per il team ed i piloti che sono vicecampioni della scorsa stagione:

“Sono molto contento con i piloti e con tutti i cambiamenti che abbiamo fatto durante l’estate, con del nuovo personale per quanto riguarda gli ingegneri. Se riusciamo a continuare così avremo delle ottime opportunità di vincere”.

Dragon confirms manufacturer entry for season three

Punta del Este, Uruguay. December 18, 2015. Dragon Racing will join the growing list of manufacturers in the FIA Formula E Championship with the team confirming its own powertrain supply from next season.

The US-based team, which is currently the only customer outfit with powertrains provided by Venturi, will be a fully-fledged manufacturer for the start of the 2016-2017 campaign.

Speaking at the pre-event press conference in Punta del Este, Managing and Commercial Director Oriol Servia discussed the future plans for the team.

“We just want to have full control of the car. At the moment we have been relying on Venturi, who have been great, but we want to be able to put our own package together and beat the rest,” he said.

Servia also paid tribute to the improved performance of the team, which finished as runner up in the team standings in the inaugural season. Servia said:

“I’m happy with the drivers and with the changes that we made over the summer, with some hiring on the engineering side. If we keep running as we have been, we will get our chance.”
