Abbiamo intervistato il Presidente della Federazione Automobilistica e Motociclistica Saudita (SAMF – Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation), Principe Khaled bin Sultan Al Faisal, i piloti Taylor Barnard, Norman Nato, Maximilian Günther, Oliver Rowland, Joel Eriksson, Felipe Drugovich e Zane Maloney.

In the first part of the interview with the President of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF), Prince Khaled bin Sultan Al Faisal, we retrace the history of the first interview conducted by EMN in Berlin in 2017 and his memories of the first race held in 2018, where even the rain came… which in these parts is a real blessing.

Formula E, first international race in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The Saudi authorities’ vision is to transform Saudi Arabia in terms of sustainability and safety by 2030, and Formula E is an important part of this, as well as being the first global motorsport category to race in the Kingdom. In the final part of the interview, Prince Khaled bin Sultan Al Faisal, President of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF), also discusses the possibility of Formula E racing in other cities in the Kingdom.

There’s not much to say about the last race
Taylor Barnard, the British driver for the DS Penske team, said there’s not much to say about the last race. ”We probably had the fastest car, we could have done better, but we made some mistakes. Now we need to move forward and stay focused on this and the next races – he said. In the interview, he also talks about the two races and the differences between them.
In italiano – Non c’è molto da dire dell’ultima gara
Taylor Barnard, il pilota inglese del team DS Penske, ha detto che non c’è molto da dire riguardo l’ultima gara. Probabilmente avevamo la vettura più veloce, potevamo fare di meglio ma abbiamo fatto degli errori, ora bisogna andare avanti e mantenere il focus su questa e le prossime gare – ha dichiarato. Nell’intervista parla anche delle due gare e delle differenze tra una e l’altra.

I don’t think they’ll be two completely different races, said Oliver Rowland
Reigning world champion Oliver Rowland said he doesn’t think they’ll be two completely different races, even though they obviously won’t be the same. He doesn’t think Race 2 will be waiting game either, and he said there will be more strategy in Race 1 due to the use of Pit Boost, but that Race 2 will still offer good opportunities to do well.

L’attuale campione mondiale Oliver Rowland ha detto di non pensare in due gare completamente diverse, anche se ovviamente non saranno uguali. Non pensa nemmeno che Gara 2 sia una gara di attesa e ha detto che ci sarà una maggiore strategia in Gara 1 per via dell’uso del Pit Boost, ma che comunque in Gara 2 ci saranno buone opportunità per fare bene.

Maximilian Günther speaks about the differences between the two Jeddah races

When we asked Joel Eriksson how is going his second life in Formula E, he said “amazing.” He had driven the Gen2, but now he spoke of a completely different car to drive, faster, more powerful, and with many more features. Finally, he shared his thoughts on these two races in Jeddah.

Quando abbiamo chiesto a Joel Eriksson come va la sua seconda vita in Formula E, ha detto “strabiliante”. Lui aveva guidato la Gen2, ma ora ha parlato di una macchina completamente diversa da guidare, più veloce, più potente e con molte altre funzioni. Infine ha espresso il suo pensiero per queste due gare di Jeddah.

Ho sbagliato io e mi sono scusato con Da Costa, ha detto Felipe Drugovich
Felipe Drugovich ha detto riguardo l’incidente della scorsa gara di Miami di aver sbagliato la frenata e colpito Da Costa involontariamente, aggiungendo dopo la gara hanno parlato e ha riconosciuto il suo errore. Nell’intervista parla anche delle sue aspettative per le due gare di Jeddah.

Balancing expectations with reality – Zane Maloney said
Zane Maloney said in the interview that racing for a new team is always difficult, but he knows he’s on the right path because he sees the progress of the team and himself as a driver. He also said they continue to maximize the car’s performance, but that there’s a lot of work to do and that always it’s necessary to balance expectations with reality. Finally, he talked about his preparation for these two races in Jeddah.

Zane Maloney ha detto nell’intervista che corre per un nuovo team è sempre difficile, ma sa di essere sulla strada giusta perché vede i progressi del team e di lui stesso come pilota. Ha anche detto che continuano a massimizzare le prestazioni della macchina ma che c’è molto lavoro da fare e che bisogna sempre bilanciare quello che uno si aspetta e quello che si ha nella realtà. Infine ha parlato della sua preparazione per queste due gare di Jeddah.
