{"id":177201,"date":"2021-09-24T18:31:21","date_gmt":"2021-09-24T16:31:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.electricmotornews.com\/?p=177201"},"modified":"2021-09-24T17:20:20","modified_gmt":"2021-09-24T15:20:20","slug":"mercedes-partner-automotive-cells-company","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.electricmotornews.com\/gb\/eventi\/mercedes-partner-automotive-cells-company\/","title":{"rendered":"Mercedes Benz new partner of Automotive Cells Company"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Mercedes Benz is the new partner of the Automotive Cells Company (ACC)<\/strong> that aims to raise its capacity plan to at least <strong>120 GWh by 2030.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mercedes-Benz becomes an <strong>equal shareholder of ACC<\/strong> along with <strong>Stellantis and TotalEnergies<\/strong>, each with <strong>1\/3 equity stake.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The transaction is subject to agreement on definitive documentation and customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ACC results from the initiative taken in 2020 by Stellantis and TotalEnergies<\/strong> <strong>and supported by the French, German and European authorities<\/strong>, to create a <strong>European battery champion for electric vehicles<\/strong>. The entry of Mercedes-Benz in ACC is a clear demonstration of the industrial progress and of the merits of the project, which it will strengthen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ACC\u2019s objective is to develop and produce battery cells and modules for electric vehicles<\/strong> with a focus on safety, performance and competitiveness, while ensuring the highest level of quality and the lowest carbon footprint. <strong>The updated ACC capacity plan will mobilize an investment of more than seven billion euros<\/strong>, which will be supported by subsidies and financed by equity and debt.
