Ten years have already passed since Niu Technologies entered the electric vehicle market and now the Chinese company is celebrating at EICMA 2024 with new models.

For Niu, this milestone is more than just a celebration. It’s a testament to a mission that started with a simple but powerful idea: that the future of transportation should be electric, sustainable, and accessible. This year at EICMA, Niu is introducing limited-edition versions of some of its most beloved mopeds, motorcycles, and kickscooters – each model designed not only to honor the past but to signal the future.

Niu will be offering a first glimpse of two new moped models alongside these anniversary editions, showcasing what’s possible when cutting-edge design meets technological innovation.

It’s a chance for guests, media, and dealers to experience, up close, the craftsmanship and forward-thinking that’s driving the next phase of electric mobility.

It’s incredible to reflect on how far we’ve come – says Yan Li, CEO of Niu. Ten years ago, we set out to spark an electric revolution, and standing here today, it’s clear we’ve made progress—but there’s so much more to do. We are grateful for the people who believed in us, and we’re more committed than ever to driving sustainable urban mobility worldwide.

10 Years of Pioneering Electric Mobility

Niu’s journey began with an understanding of a global need that was only just emerging – the need to move away from fossil fuels and embrace a cleaner, greener future. In 2015, when Niu launched its first model, it wasn’t just about building a vehicle: it was about leading a movement.

They saw the potential to depetrolize cities, making transportation not only smarter but also kinder to the environment. That vision, and the passion that fueled it, has carried them through the challenges of building an electric mobility company in a world still catching up to the idea of sustainable transport.

At EICMA, to celebrate this journey, Niu is showcasing a selection of limited-edition models of the NQiX 1000, FQi 500, RQi Sport, XQi3, KQi Air X and KQi 300X, with only a few hundred of each available worldwide. Each of these models represent not just a vehicle, but a decade of resilience, innovation, and the countless people who made it all possible.

The NQiX: The Original, Reimagined

Niu NQiX

One of Niu’s original and most beloved models, the NQi, gets a new life as the NQiX. The “X” stands for transformation, incorporating everything customers loved about the original NQi and adding major upgrades. With smart features developed over the past 10 years, users can customize settings such as acceleration and switch between riding modes. The specially designed Niu Link Crown now also allows riders to customize their ride on-the-go, without having to access the app.

Additional features include route recording, music playback, and phone answering. Advanced options like tire pressure monitoring (with accessories) and ride timing are also available.

And like any anniversary edition worthy of the name, the NQiX comes with special design touches like interchangeable side panels, magnetic front covers, and Niu’s iconic halo lamp. It’s a fresh take on a classic-made for the next generation of urban explorers.

The NQiX 150 (€ 2699 MSRP, incl. VAT), NQiX 300 (€ 3599 MSRP, incl. VAT) and NQiX 500 (€ 4499 MSRP, incl. VAT) will be in flagship stores and dealers across Europe in Q1 2025 and are available in Matte Black, Matte Gray and Glossy White.

The NQiX 1000 will be in flagship stores and dealers across Europe in Q3 2025, at expected starting price of € 7499 MSRP and available in Matte Black, Matte Gray, Glossy White and a 10th Anniversary colorway.

FQi: Built for Adventure

The FQi Series, meanwhile, offers an entirely different flavor of electric mobility—one that balances power and accessibility. With a robust 6400W motor, it’s built for the adventure-seeker who needs a scooter that can handle the demands of the open road. Reaching speeds of up to 95 km/h and capable of taking on 25% inclines, the FQi doesn’t just offer speed; it offers the confidence that comes from knowing you’re riding one of the most advanced electric vehicles on the market. And with features like regenerative braking and Bluetooth-enabled smart locks, it’s as practical as it is fun.

The FQi 300 (€ 2999 expected MSRP, incl. VAT) and FQi 500 (€ 3799 MSRP, incl. VAT), available in Black, White, Sahara and a 10th Anniversary colorway, are expected to be in Niu flagship stores and dealers across Europe in Q1 2025.

KQi-Sharing Kickscooter Enters the Playing Field

While the media and VC community have labeled the past two years as the “winter” of micromobility sharing, Niu’s data and partners present a different perspective. Since 2018, Niu’s cloud-connected smart e-mopeds have fueled shared mobility on a global scale. The company’s partners have collectively covered over 212 million kilometers across 41 countries and 458 cities – equivalent to more than 5,300 trips around the Earth.

Demonstrating confidence in this sector, Niu is set to launch its KQi-Sharing kickscooter at EICMA, which seamlessly integrates with leading sharing platforms like Voi, Tier, and Lime, among others.

And one more thing…

Niu is always exploring new markets and products behind the scenes. At this year’s EICMA, they showcased three powersports concept vehicles, giving media, guests, and dealers an opportunity to experience their latest innovations and share feedback with their global design and R&D teams. And last but certainly not least: they’re set to launch their most powerful OTA update for the XQi3 yet.
