Nidec Aerospace establishes Atlanta Hub to accelerate electric propulsion innovation

Nidec Aerospace apre un hub ad Atlanta per accelerare l'innovazione nella propulsione elettrica

As part of Nidec, the world’s leading electric motor manufacturer, Nidec Aerospace is shaping the future of aviation.

Early last week, Nidec Aerospace announced the opening of a new office in Atlanta, Georgia, a strategic expansion designed to accelerate the development and deployment of Electric Propulsion Units for sustainable aviation.

The Atlanta hub strengthens Nidec Aerospace’s ability to support customers as advanced air mobility moves from concept to certification and service. By placing engineering, program leadership, and customer collaboration closer together, Nidec is positioning itself to shorten development cycles, improve integration, and increase program confidence in the rapidly evolving aerospace landscape.

Atlanta was selected for its strong global connectivity, deep aerospace and engineering talent base, and proximity to leading research universities. The region’s growing aerospace ecosystem enables closer partnership with customers, suppliers, and industry partners, while supporting Nidec Aerospace’s long-term innovation roadmap.

Establishing a presence in Atlanta is about building momentum for our customers and the industry – said Vincent Braley, CEO of Nidec Aerospace, as electric propulsion programs advance toward real-world deployment, proximity matters. This move allows us to work faster, integrate earlier, and deliver dependable, certifiable propulsion solutions that help move projects from prototype to service.

St. Louis, Missouri will continue to serve as a key operational base for Nidec Aerospace, preserving the deep technical expertise and infrastructure that have shaped the division’s growth. With Atlanta now established, the combined footprint enhances cross-team collaboration and supports the company’s long-term direction.

This expansion reinforces Nidec’s role as a long-term partner to aircraft developers, Original Equipment Manufacturer and operators navigating the future of sustainable aviation, where performance, reliability, and speed to market are critical.
