Everrati has joined forces with Mercedes-Benz SL restoration specialist Hemmels to create the electric Mercedes-Benz W113 SL ‘Pagoda’.
Following on from the recent launch of Everrati’s own electrified ‘Pagoda’, this new collaboration with Hemmels further raises the benchmark for understated, sustainable luxury resulting in the ultimate zero-emission W113. A key element of the new partnership is Hemmels’ unique Neugeboren (Newborn) Restoration Process, the strict specifications of which combine the best of luxury, craftsmanship and modern technology to bring customers a fully bespoke vehicle that is better than the day it left the factory.
The transformation to electric power involves the optimisation of overall weight and weight distribution and Everrati has kept these important metrics as close to the donor SL ‘Pagoda’ as much as possible, while chassis response, performance and safety are enhanced, reinvigorating the vehicle’s character. The Everrati powertrain solution assures that structural integrity is retained, with the redefinition of the vehicle completely reversible, to maintain value and options into the future.
Everrati’s proprietary OEM-grade electric powertrain utilises one of the world’s most power dense motors from its partner Helix, and features an advanced iGen-5 68 KwH battery system, which allows a range of more than 200 miles and a sub 7.0 second 0-60 mph time.
The powertrain features a 300bhp cutting edge electric motor, a limited slip differential and regenerative braking allowing ‘one-pedal’ driving when the opportunity arises. AC and DC fast charging is also included, allowing owners to top up en-route quickly.
Hemmels will offer the Everrati-powered Electric Pagoda internationally, with new orders scheduled into available production slots. Each restoration will include chassis preparation, choice of paint finish and colour, a full re-chrome, fresh glass and a new hand-crafted interior.
Hemmels will also embrace Everrati’s wider commitment to carbon-neutral motoring by offering super soft luxury leather with a matt finish and haircell grain from Everrati partner Bridge of Weir, maker of the world’s lowest carbon leather for the automotive industry. Covering the luxurious and supremely comfortable seats, as well as the dashboard and door panels, this opulent material is available in beautiful light Vanilla, Cashmere, and Fawn, to the darker Fastnet and Black hide colours. Leather hides that are in-line with those available in period Mercedes-Benz SL ‘Pagoda’ models are also available. Any body paint colour the customer wishes is possible, underlining the bespoke nature of a commission.
Other stand-out details include custom-designed dials, showing vital information whilst maintaining an ‘original’ appearance. Combined with optional modern conveniences such as seamlessly integrated, Bluetooth controlled high end audio, heated seats and air conditioning, the Pagoda is fully equipped for a short cruise along the coast or a longer touring journey.
The Hemmels 280SL Pagoda will be displayed for the first time in North America at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on 11-18 August 2024, where attendees will have the opportunity to experience the reborn electric classic, as part of the Everrati Drive Experience event, and to engage with representatives from each company.
