Many cities want to reduce the traffic and cut down on particulate matter emissions, particularly in city centres where the situation usually is more delicated.
At the same time, however, commercial transport – that is, the delivery of goods – is on the rise in urban areas.
It is precisely this conflict of objectives that bike logistics addresses: for this climate-neutral form of last-mile parcel delivery could be the solution for cities.
We spoke to the German Bicycle Logistics Association, the University of Magdeburg, the City of Munich’s Mobility Department and the company B4B Logistics about the use of commercial cargo bikes.
