EMN’s Long Ear (Orecchio Lungo) and the Formula E Season 13 Calendar

L’Orecchio Lungo di EMN e il calendario di Formula E della stagione 13

Only three of the 17 races scheduled for Formula E’s Season 12 have taken place, but Electric Motor News’s Long Ear has already started to get excited!!!

From the shores of the Red Sea, where the Jeddah Corniche Circuit is located, our Long Ear’s eardrums have heard that some of the new races that Jeff Dodds himself has declared he wants to add to the future calendar of the electric single-seater category are said to be a done deal.

In fact, the Formula E CEO had said he wanted another race in the United States to accompany the one in Miami… and the name of Austin, Texas, was reportedly rumored to be ready to host it.

But not only that. The desert winds have reportedly brought our Long Ear the name of Toronto, Canada, to complete the North American race package.

It’s well known that organizing a Formula E race isn’t easy and isn’t just a question of money. There are several variables that can influence a decision, whether positive or negative.

Still on the subject of the calendar, we’ve been hearing the name of Zandvoort, in the Netherlands, increasingly loudly as a possible new venue for Formula E.

Obviously, the London race couldn’t be left out of these rumors heard by our collaborator.

The ExCeL venue would see Formula E for the last time this year. Indeed, with the debut of the Gen4, decidedly more powerful and more “cumbersome”, there would be no way to modify the London route to offer a worthy spectacle.

We know for a fact that Formula E has already visited almost all the circuits in Great Britain to evaluate where to host the E-Prix in the future, but it seems, according to what the Long Ear has heard, that the two finalist locations are Brands Hatch and Silverstone.

Berlin’s name has also been mentioned in various places, and from what we’ve gathered, they’re considering changing the layout of the historic Tempelhof Airport.

The options are to find another location in the German capital, or emigrate to another city; but for now, all rumors are still “soft” and everything is still very “immature,” as if to speculate.
