The new components of the Gen3 are beginning to be seen in the Formula E paddock, making their public debut in the Valencia tests.
It seems rare, buta simple metal box tells many things, like the one you see in this photo with the corresponding details.
This is theFront Unit, i.e. the front motor and inverter of the cars(in this case Porsches), supplied byAtieva, the company based in Silicon Valley (Lucid Motors Group).
The word“Flashed” or “updated” is written on the inverter casing, which means that the units areupdated and ready to be mounted in the cars.
As a curiosity… on this Wednesday of testing, Porsche declared that they thought they had problems with this Front Unit and for that reason they had two more sent from the Formula E spare parts office present in all the races and tests, to then find out that the reasons for the problems were someone else’s and therefore probably these two Front Units will not be mounted.
