ElectriCity offre ai cittadini di Göteborg uno show mobile di Natale alimentato dall’elettricità

Goteborg, Svezia. 4 Dicembre 2015. ElettriCity, dove Volvo è uno dei principali partecipanti, sta continuando il suo successo virale con concerti acustici tenuti da artisti svedesi, tra i passeggeri sulla linea di autobus elettrico 55. Questa volta si offre ai cittadini di Göteborg uno spettacolo mobile di Natale. Il bus elettrico offre l’intrattenimento, sotto forma di uno spettacolo di luci accompagnati da musica tradizionale di Natale durante il viaggio attraverso il centro di Göteborg.

I concerti a sorpresa date nel mese di settembre a bordo della linea di autobus 55 da Seinabo Sey e Zara Larsson hanno catturato l’attenzione del pubblico sia in Svezia che all’estero, ottenendo più di 2,6 milioni di visualizzazioni su Facebook e YouTube.

“La campagna precedente ‘Silent Bus Sessions’ ha evidenziato uno dei principali vantaggi degli autobus elettrici – ovvero quanto silenziosi sono. Vogliamo usare lo spettacolo di Natale per evidenziare in modo divertente che il bus elettrico consente di rimpiazzare il rumore tradizionale della città da suoni piacevoli”, afferma Elena Lind, PR manager di Volvo Buses.

Gli auguri di Natale saranno estesi ai cittadini di Göteborg e potranno essere visti e sentiti lungo la linea di autobus 55, che passa lungo Avenyn e Östra Hamngatan nel centro della città. Il percorso si snoda in genere solo nei giorni feriali, ma verrà fatta un’eccezione nel weekend del 4-6 dicembre quando l’autobus di Natale girerà anche il Sabato e Domenica dalle 10:00 alle 06:00.

“C’è un modo possibile di vedere il bus di Natale come una cartolina di Natale mobile che stiamo usando per inviare gli auguri di Natale ai cittadini di Göteborg, ma anche di mettere in luce un’impresa di successo in cui l’innovazione e la sostenibilità si combinano per creare un attraente mezzo di trasporto pubblico”, dice Lars Backström, amministratore delegato di Västtrafik.

Riguardo ElettriCity

ElettriCity è un progetto di collaborazione tra il mondo accademico, l’industria e il settore pubblico e mira a sviluppare, dimostrare e valutare nuovi sistemi di trasporto pubblico sostenibili per il futuro. La sperimentazione e la valutazione del trasporto autobus elettrico è una parte centrale dell’uso della’energia elettrica. Silenzioso, il trasporto pubblico a emissioni zero può operare in luoghi dove il traffico è attualmente vietato. Questo apre nuove possibilità per la pianificazione urbana nelle città.

I tre autobus elettrici sulla rotta funzionano con l’elettricità rinnovabile e sono a basso consumo energetico, silenziosi e completamente senza emissioni. Gli autobus vengono alimentati da batterie che vengono ricaricate velocemente con elettricità da fonti rinnovabili al capolinea degli autobus. I passeggeri hanno accesso di Wi-Fi a bordo strutture di ricarica dei cellulari. La fermata dell’autobus Teknikgatan su Lindholmen è chiusa.

Oltre ai tre bus completamente elettrici, il percorso ha un numero di autobus ibridi elettrici che funzionano con l’elettricità per circa il 70% del percorso.

Oltre ai bus attuali, ElectriCity sviluppa e sperimenta nuove soluzioni alla fermata del bus, i sistemi di gestione dei trasporti, concetti di sicurezza e sistemi di approvvigionamento energetico.

ElectriCity offers Gothenburg’s citizens a mobile, electricity-powered Christmas show

Gothenburg, Sweden. December 4^th, 2015. ElectriCity, where Volvo is one of the main participants, is now following up its viral success with acoustic concerts given by Swedish artists among passengers on the electric bus route 55. This time it is offering Gothenburg’s citizens a mobile Christmas show. The electric bus itself is providing the entertainment in the form of a light show accompanied by traditional Christmas music while travelling through central Gothenburg.

The surprise concerts given in September on board the bus route 55 by Seinabo Sey and Zara Larsson caught the public’s attention in both Sweden and abroad, getting more than 2.6 million views on Facebook and YouTube.

“The previous ‘Silent Bus Sessions’ campaign highlighted one of the major benefits of electric buses – how quiet they are. We want to use the Christmas show to highlight in a fun way that the electric bus allows the city’s traditional noise to be replaced by pleasant sounds,” says Helena Lind, PR manager at Volvo Buses.

The Christmas greetings being extended to Gothenburg’s citizens can be seen and heard along the bus route 55, which passes along Avenyn and Östra Hamngatan in the city center. The route normally only runs on weekdays, but an exception will be made on the weekend of 4-6 December when the Christmas bus will also run on Saturday and Sunday between 10 am and 6 pm.

“One way you can look at the Christmas bus is like a mobile Christmas card which we are using to send Christmas greetings to Gothenburg’s citizens, while also spotlighting a successful venture where innovation and sustainability combine to create an attractive means of public transport,” says Lars Backström, managing director of Västtrafik.

About ElectriCity

ElectriCity is a collaborative project between academia, industry and the public sector and is aimed at developing, demonstrating and evaluating new sustainable public transport systems for the future. Testing and evaluation of electric bus transport is a central part of ElectriCity. Silent, emission-free public transport can operate in places where traffic is currently banned. This opens up new possibilities for urban planning in towns and cities.

The three electric buses on the route run on renewable electricity and are energy-efficient, silent and completely emission-free. The buses run on batteries that are quickly recharged with renewable electricity at the bus terminus stops. Passengers have access to onboard wi-fi and phone charging facilities. The Teknikgatan bus stop on Lindholmen is indoors.

Besides the three completely electric buses, the route has a number of electric hybrid buses which run on electricity for approximately 70% of the route.

In addition to the actual buses, ElectriCity develops and tests new bus stop solutions, transport management systems, safety concepts and energy supply systems.
