Detroit, Michigan. USA. 12 Gennaio 2015. Kia ha presentato oggi le prime immagini ufficiali della sportiva e versatile Niro – un nuovissimo Hybrid Utility Vehicle (HUV) che è pensato per aggiungere una dimensione nuova nel mercato globale dei SUV compatti.

Lo stile della Niro è stato sviluppato dai centri di design Kia in California, Stati Uniti d’America e di Namyang, in Corea e incorpora la praticità e il fascino estetico di un SUV compatto, con un design elegante, aerodinamico della carrozzeria e le superfici scolpite in modo sottile. Evidenziandole anche nel retro in rilievo conferiscono l’HUV con un atteggiamento sportivo, l’immagine rivela anche fanali posteriori montati in alto a LED che completano una zona posteriore ordinata. La linea di carattere sottile ed i finestrini posteriori sottolineano il profilo slanciato della vettura, consentendo nel contempo maggiore spazio per i passaruota muscolosi del Niro.

La nuova Kia Niro è il primo modello ad essere basato sulla nuova piattaforma di auto ecologica dedicata HUV di Kia, è pensato per raggiungere valori di emissioni al di sotto dei 90 g/km (nel ciclo combinato, in base al nuovo ciclo di guida europeo) grazie al suo nuovissimo propulsore ibrido benzina-elettrico ridimensionato.

Il Niro HUV sarà svelato al mondo per la prima volta al 2016 Chicago Auto Show nel mese di febbraio, e dimostrerà i passi notevoli che il brand ha fatto nella realizzazione dei veicoli confortevoli, divertente da guidare che diminuiscono le emissione dell’automobilismo.

Detroit, Michigan. USA. 12 Gennaio 2015. Kia has today unveiled the first official images of the sporty and versatile Niro – an all-new Hybrid Utility Vehicle (HUV) that’s set to add a fresh dimension to the global compact SUV market.

The styling of the Niro was led by Kia’s design centres in California, USA and Namyang, Korea and incorporates the practicality and aesthetic allure of a compact SUV, with a sleek, aerodynamic body and subtly sculptured surfaces.

Highlighting the raised rear haunches that endow the HUV with an athletic stance, the image also reveals high-mounted LED taillights that complement an uncluttered rear end. The slim character line and rear windows emphasise the car’s sleek profile, while allowing greater room for the Niro’s muscular wheel arches.

The all-new Kia Niro is the first model to be based on Kia’s new dedicated eco-car platform, and the HUV is set to achieve a sub-90 g/km CO2 emissions rating (combined, based on the New European Driving Cycle) thanks to its all-new downsized gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain.

The Niro HUV will be unveiled to the world for the first time at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show in February, and will demonstrate the considerable steps the brand has made in delivering comfortable, fun-to-drive vehicles that lead the way in low-emission motoring.
