Küsnacht, Svizzera. Marzo 2016. Il visionario e pioniere Wim Ouboter ha inventato il Micro Scooter e lo ha trasformato in un prodotto di vita, che ora è distribuito in più di 80 paesi. La sua idea ha rivoluzionato il concetto di mobilità urbana e il pensiero di trasporto in città.

Ora la sua visione della mobilità urbana ha fatto un ulteriore passo avanti.

In collaborazione con l’università svizzera ZHAW è stato sviluppato il concept di un veicolo elettrico. Un veicolo ecologico che è piccolo e veloce in modo da trovare sempre un posto per parcheggiare in città senza impazzire. Così è nata la Microlino, la macchina che cambia il modo della mobilità urbana.

Iso Rivolta 1954

La Isetta era una microcar prodotta dalla Iso Rivolta cono sede a Bresso, in Provincia di Milano, in Italia. Con il suo unico ingresso anteriore l’auto era nota anche come “bubble car”, è diventata sempre più amata in tutto il mondo. Con oltre 217.000 automobili vendute la produzione si fermò nel 1962. Ora 54 anni dopo è stato fatto rivivere questo vecchio ma ancora geniale concetto di auto.

Primo disegno e schizzi nel 2015

All’inizio del 2015 sono state sviluppate le prime idee progettuali della Microlino. Era chiaro che il progetto doveva essere indipendente e non una povera imitazione della vecchia Isetta. Nuovo design, le tecnologie di oggi e le innovazioni rivoluzionarie. Si è voluto essere un ricordo della storia e non solo una rianimazione!

Dal vecchio al nuovo 2015

In collaborazione con l’Università ZHAW e Designwerk sono stati creati diversi studi su quello che serviva a trasformare questo vecchio concetto in una macchina del futuro. A scopo di verifica è stata elettrificata una vecchia Isetta per analizzare i risultati e la sensazione di una vettura così piccola. Attraverso tutte le reazioni positive e l’eccitazione dalla gente per strada, i responsabili hanno capito che questo progetto doveva passare alla fase successiva.

Prototipo 2016

Alla fine del 2015 è stato deciso di produrre il primo prototipo Microlino. Insieme alla casa automobilistica cinese Kandi Technologies, si è determinata la miglior realizzazione possibile del primo prototipo, che è stato presentato al Salone di Ginevra 2016.

Stella segreta al Salone di Ginevra

Sotto grande pressione i responsabile del progetto sono riusciti a riparare il primo prototipo dopo un incidente accaduto nel momento del trasporto prima dell’anteprima mondiale al Salone di Ginevra.

Un giorno prima della messa a punto finale per la mostra, il responsabile di progetto e la sua ragazza sono anche riusciti a rinnovare tutto l’interno della vettura danneggiato anche nelll’incidente. Quindi è stato un grande sollievo per tutto il team sapere che si è fatto in tempo ad introdurre finalmente al mondo la concept car.

Ovviamente eravano molto fiduciosi che il Microlino si sarebbe guadagnato una grande attenzione allo show, ma quello che è successo è stata una sorpresa per tutti. Nei due giorni della stampa correvano da intervista in intervista ed hanno parlato con molti giornalisti dei grandi mezzi di comunicazione di tutto il mondo. I giornalisti sono venuti allo stand  e non è stato difficile per loro capire le potenzialità enormi di questa vettura nella società urbana. Da molti giornali sono stati chiamati come una delle top 10 auto dello show, che è molto impressionante se si deve competere con le più grandi case automobilistiche del mondo. Le notizie erano piene di questa piccola city car e di titoli come: “La stella segreta del Salone di Ginevra” o “Il Microlino è di gran lunga il modello più di tendenza dello show”.

Ma non solo i giornalisti erano interessati al Microlino, durante i giorni di apertura al pubblico c’è stata la visita del ministro svizzero della cultura e della salute, Alain Berset che sembrava molto colpito dall’auto retrò da città. Tra tutte quelle auto e SUV super ha scelto di dare uno sguardo da vicino al Microlino e di fare una chiacchierata con Wim Ouboter, il Padre della Microlino.

Tutto esaurito

Il primo giorno del Salone di Ginevra hanno iniziato la lista di prenotazione non vincolante per i primi 500 Microlino prodotti in serie. Ancora una volta sono stati travolti dalla domanda e in meno di due settimane la lista di prenotazione era piena! 500 prenotazioni in soli 13 giorni e ancora di richieste. Questo è stato un altro punto culminante delle ultime settimane del team Microlino.

E coloro che non sono riusciti ad iscriversi nell’elenco, possono accedere alla lista di attesa ed essere pronti per occupare il primo posto libero.

March 2016. The visionary and pioneer Wim Ouboter invented the Micro Scooter and Kickboard and turned it into a Lifestyle Product, which is now distributed in more than 80 countries. His idea revolutionized the concept of urban mobility and the thinking of transportation in cities.

Now he has taken his vision of urban mobility a step further. In collaboration with the Swiss university ZHAW a concept of an electric vehicle was developed. An environmentally friendly vehicle that is small and swift so you will always find a parking spot in the city without going crazy. Microlino, the car to change the way of urban mobility, was born.

Iso Rivolta 1954

The Isetta was a microcar manufactured by Iso Rivolta in Bresso italy. With its unique front entry and cute looking the car also known as „bubble car“, became more and more loved all around the world. With over 217`000 sold cars the production stopped in 1962. Now 54 years later we revived this old but still genius car concept.

First Design Sketches 2015

In the beginning of the year 2015 the first design ideas of the Microlino have been developed. It was clear that the design had to be independent and not a poor imitation of the old Isetta. New design, todays technologies and groundbreaking innovations. We wanted to be a reminder of history and not only  a reanimation!

From Old to New 2015

In collaboration with the university ZHAW and Designwerk we created several studies on what we needed to adjust, to transform this old concept into a car for the future. For testing purposes we electrified an old Isetta to analyze our results and get the feeling of such a small car. Through all the  positive reactions and excitement from people on the street, we knew that this project has to go to the next phase.

Prototype 2016

In the end of 2015 we decided to produce our first Microlino prototype. Together with the chinese car manufacturer Kandi Technologies, we determined the best possible realisation of the first prototype, which will be presented at the Geneva motor show in 2016.

Secret Star at Geneva Car Show

Under great time pressure we managed to repair our first prototype before our world premiere at the Geneva International Car Show. One day before the show setup our project manager and his girlfriend even managed to renew the whole interior of the car as it was also damaged by the accident. So for us it was a great relief to know that we made it in time and to finally introduce the world our trendy car concept.

Of course we were very confident that the Microlino would gain a lot of attention at the show but what happened was a surprise to all of us. On the two press days we were running from interview to interview   and spoke with a lot of big media players from all around the world. The journalists came by our both and it didn`t take long for them to realize what a huge potential this car has in an urban society. From a lot of newspapers we were named under the top 10 of the car show, which is very impressive if you have to compete with the biggest car companies of the world. The news were full about this little city car and headlines like: “The Secret Star of the Geneva Car Show” or “The Microlino is by far the most trendsetting model of the Show”, were all over the news.

But not only the journalists were interested in the Microlino, during the public days we were visited by the Swiss minister of culture and health, Alain Berset who seemed quite impressed by our retro city car. Among all those super cars and SUV`s he chose to have a closer look at the Microlino and had a little chat with Wim Ouboter, the Father of the Microlino.

On the first public day of the Geneva Car Show we started our non-binding reservation list for the first 500 serial Microlinos. Again we were overwhelmed by the demand we were getting and in under two weeks the reservation list was full! 500 reservations in just 13 days and still more requests. That was another highlight of the past few weeks for the Microlino team.
