Le immatricolazioni di auto elettriche raggiungono record come plug-in popolarità continua a crescere

Londra, Gran Bretagna. 13 Aprile 2016 La diffusione delle auto plug-in ha raggiunto un livello record nel Regno Unito con oltre 115 auto elettriche registrate ogni giorno durante il primo trimestre del 2016. In totale, 10.496 auto plug-in sono state immatricolate per circolare sulle strade del Regno Unito durante i primi tre mesi dell’anno con un’auto plug-in venduta ogni 13 minuti, che rappresenta il miglior periodo di vendite di auto elettriche dal momento che il plug-in Car Grant è stato introdotto nel gennaio 2011.

L’analisi di Go Ultra Low e gli ultimi dati delle registrazione dalla Società di produttori e commercianti (SMMT) dimostrano che le vendite di vetture plug-in quest’anno sono aumentate prima del previsto per superare del record totale 2015 – quando una maggior quantità di auto elettriche sono state registrae rispetto ai cinque anni precedenti messi insieme. Inoltre, questo primo successo trimestrale rappresenta un miglioramento del 23% rispetto lo stesso periodo dello scorso anno, quando è stato registrato un enorme aumento del 386% delle immatricolazioni.

Un numero crescente di automobilisti si avvicinano ai benefici della guida elettrica, di conseguenza la crescita senza precedenti negli ultimi 12 mesi ha continuato all’inizio del 2016. Il numero di veicoli registrati secondo Plug-In Car Grant ha ormai superato le 58.000 unità, quasi il triplo di quelli che sono stati immatricolati all’inizio dello scorso anno.

Il ministro dei Trasporti Andrew Jones, ha detto:

“Queste cifre da record indicano che centinaia di persone ogni settimana capiscono il fatto che le auto plug-in sono più pulite, più verdi e più economiche da gestire. Il Regno Unito è un leader mondiale nella diffusione di veicoli a basse emissioni e il nostro piano economico a lungo termine sta investendo 600 milioni di sterline entro il 2020 per migliorare la qualità dell’aria, creare posti di lavoro e raggiungere il nostro obiettivo che prevede ogni nuova auto e furgone venduti nel Regno Unito siano ad ultra basse emissioni entro il 2040”.

Oltre alla brusca crescita trimestrale, marzo ha anche registrato i più elevati dati di vendita mensili di sempre, con 7.144 nuove auto elettriche sbarcate sulle strade del Regno Unito. Il totale mensile supera il precedente massimo di 6.104, registrato esattamente un anno fa, nel marzo 2015.

Poppy Welch, Head of Go Ultra Low, ha detto:

“Questa continua crescita dell’assorbimento nel mercato delle auto plug-in è la prova di come i veicoli elettrici stanno diventando una scelta naturale per un numero crescente di acquirenti di auto nuove. Con bassi costi di gestione, esenzioni fiscali e un parcheggio gratuito in molti luoghi, molti più automobilisti dovrebbero considerare un veicolo plug-in come la loro prossima auto. Le immatricolazioni record continuano a portare avanti il tasso di crescita degli EV, non è più una questione di volontà di quanti automobilisti scelgono l’elettrica, ma quando “.

Questo incremento nei primi mesi dell’anno delle registrazioni di auto plug-in permette il Regno Unito di mantenere la posizione di leader di mercato nell’Unione europea per le vendite di veicoli elettrici (EV). Nel corso degli ultimi 12 mesi, il Regno Unito si posiziona come il più grande mercato e secondo solo ai Paesi Bassi con un totale di immatricolazioni di EV, con 28,715 nuove vetture plug-in che rappresentano un quinto delle vendite complessivi di EV nell’Unione europea.

London, UK. 13^th April 2013. Uptake of plug-in cars reached a record high in the UK with more than 115 electric cars registered every day during the first quarter of 2016. In total, 10,496 plug-in cars hit UK roads during the first three months of the year with one plug-in car sold every 13 minutes, representing the best period of electric car sales since the Plug-in Car Grant was introduced in January 2011.

Analysis by Go Ultra Low and latest registration figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show plug-in car sales this year are ahead of schedule to exceed 2015’s record total – when more plug-in cars were registered than the previous five years combined. In addition, this first quarter success represents a 23% improvement on the same point last year, when a huge 386% year-on-year rise in registrations was recorded.

As increasing numbers of motorists switch on to the benefits of electric driving, the unprecedented growth over the last 12 months has continued into the start of 2016. The number of vehicles registered using the Plug-In Car Grant has now surpassed 58,000, nearly triple the amount that were registered at the start of last year.

Transport Minister Andrew Jones, said:

“These record figures show that hundreds of people every week are coming round to the fact that plug-in cars are cleaner, greener and cheaper to run. The UK is a world leader in the uptake of low emission vehicles and our long-term economic plan is investing £600 million by 2020 to improve air quality, create jobs and achieve our goal of every new car and van in the UK being ultra-low emission by 2040.”

In addition to surging quarterly growth, March also delivered the strongest-ever monthly sales figures, with 7,144 new electric cars hitting UK roads. The monthly total exceeds the previous high of 6,104, recorded exactly a year ago in March 2015.

This early year boost in plug-in registrations is set to maintain the UK’s position as a leading market in the European Union for electric vehicle (EV) sales. Over the past 12 months, the UK ranks as the biggest major market and second only to the Netherlands in total EV registrations, with 28,715 new plug-in cars representing one fifth of the European Union’s collective EV sales.

Go Ultra Low exists to help motorists understand the benefits, cost savings and capabilities of the raft of EVs on the market. The collaborative campaign is the first of its kind, bringing together a consortium of major vehicle manufacturers, Government and the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
