BYD unveiled in Mexico its fourth pure electric vehicle – the BYD Dolphin – with 400 guests that attended the event, including local mainstream media and KOLs from various sectors.
The launch of September 20th, arrives after the launch of models BYD Han, BYD Tang, and BYD Yuan Plus last March.
The BYD Dolphin is the first model to embody the Ocean Aesthetics design philosophy. Crafted under the leadership of BYD’s Global Design Director, Wolfgang Egger, its design draws inspiration from the ocean, resulting in a lively and dynamic style. Its 2700 mm wheelbase sets a new benchmark in spaciousness, significantly enhancing ride comfort. Equipped with BYD’s intelligent cockpit system, the BYD Dolphin features a 12.8″ intelligent rotating touchscreen, offering voice control, Carplay System.
The BYD Dolphin is the inaugural mass-produced model built on e-Platform 3.0. Thanks to the highly integrated 8-in-1 electric powertrain, both the vehicle’s safety and cruising range have been significantly improved. The vehicle also incorporates BYD’s ultra-safe Blade Battery, which provides an impressive NEDC range of 405 km. With fast charging, it can charge from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes, ensuring a safe and convenient driving experience for users.
During the launch event, BYD provided a variety of immersive experiences, including a VTOL (Vehicle-to-Load) mobile power station, creative face-painting, dolphin-themed graffiti, and a lively karaoke section, allowing attendees to experience the joys of driving an electric vehicle. The BYD Dolphin is available in three colors in Mexico: Dolphin Gray, Twilight Pink, and Cheese Yellow, catering to the various needs of consumers. Its local price, unveiled during the launch, stands at 535,990 MXN (equivalent to RMB 229,990).
To date, BYD has established six dealership stores in Mexico and plans to have 50 by the end of the year, extending its presence to all 32 states. As a global leader in new energy vehicles and battery manufacturing, BYD will continue to elevate sustainable electric vehicle experiences for local consumers.
