Buenos Aires, Argentina. 7 gennaio 2015. Iniziano le voci del Buenos Aires ePrix di questo fine settimana, ed il pilota Jarno Trulli del Trulli Formula E team ha detto che tutta la sua squadra ha accettato la sfida di recuperare da una brutta prima gara.
Dopo una disastrosa gara di apertura per la squadra, che ha visto crash, errori e sanzioni meccaniche tra i due piloti, Jarno ha recuperato bene ed ha preso i suoi primi punti della stagione a Putrajaya, quando ha finito al 5° posto.
In seguito, il veterano pilota di F1 sembrava in corsa per un altro 5° posto a Punta Del Este, fino al ritiro di Jean-Eric Vergne in vista della bandiera a scacchi, permettendo Trulli di ereditare il 4 ° posto.
Jarno ritiene che la fortuna ha compensato la sfortuna di Pechino, e dice che spera ancora di più a Buenos Aires in questo fine settimana.
“Abbiamo alzato il nostro livello come squadra nelle ultime due gare dopo aver passato un inizio difficile, quindi ci aspettiamo di segnare il nostro primo podio dopo il buon quarto posto in Uruguay. La squadra sta migliorando e sono sempre più competitivo. Non vedo l’ora di correre a Buenos Aires dove abbiamo molti fan qui e sarà bello vedere la loro reazione a questa nuova serie di motorsport”.
Meno fortunata è stata la sua compagna di squadra Michela Cerruti.
Sembrava pronta per finire nei punti l’ultima gara in Uruguay, ma è caduta in una penalità per non rispettare il limite di velocità nella pitlane, dovendo scontare una sanzione. Lei spera di guadagnare alcuni punti questa volta.
“Sono molto felice di essere così presto di nuovo in pista, ed è ancora più incredibile perché succederà qui, nel centro di Buenos Aires, una città con grande atmosfera. Non sono stata molto fortunata nelle gare precedenti, ma abbiamo mostrato un buon potenziale, specialmente a Punta Del Este, e non vedo l’ora di guidare qui e di portare a casa i miei primi punti”.

Trulli: ‘We’re raising our game’

Buenos Aires, Argentina. January 7, 2015. Heading into this weekend’s Buenos Aires ePrix, Trulli Formula E driver Jarno Trulli says that his entire squad have risen to the challenge of recovering from a bad first race.
After a bad opening race for the team, which saw crashes, mechanical failures & penalties between both drivers, Jarno has recovered well to take his first points of the season in Putrajaya when he finished in 5th place. Continuing from there, the F1 veteran looked on course for another 5th place finish in Punta Del Este, until Jean-Eric Vergne retired within sight of the chequered flag, allowing Trulli to inherit 4th spot.
Jarno feels that fortune made up for the misfortune of Beijing, and says that he’s hoping for even more in Buenos Aires this weekend:
“We have been raising our game as team in the last two races after experiencing a difficult start so we expect to score our first podium after good P4 in Uruguay. The team is improving and we are getting more and more competitive. I look forward to the Buenos Aires race as we have lots of fans here and it will be nice to see their reaction to this brand new motorsport series.”
Less lucky has been his team-mate Michela Cerruti. She looked set for a points finish last time out in Uruguay, but fell foul of the speed limit in the pitlane, resulting in a penalty. She is hopeful of winning some points this time round:
“I’m very happy to be so early again on track, and it is even more amazing because it will happen here in the centre of Buenos Aires, a city with great atmosphere. I wasn’t very lucky in the past races, but we showed a good potential, specially in Punta Del Este, and I’m looking forward to drive here and to bring home my first points.”
