Città del Messico, Messico. 11 Marzo 2016. Salvador Duran ha elogiato l’arrivo della Formula E in Messico prima della inaugurale del Città del Messico ePrix.

Il pilota del team Aguri, che correrà di fronte a un pubblico di casa atteso di 35.000 persone, ritiene che ospitare una gara di Formula E sarà estremamente utile per Città del Messico.

Parlando alla conferenza stampa ufficiale pre-gara, ha detto:

“Penso che Città del Messico è una delle città più inquinate del mondo. Formula E dimostra che siamo in grado di avere grandi eventi sportivi senza contaminare la città e credo che questo è qualcosa che cambierà questa città. Stiamo facendo la storia e questo è l’obiettivo di questa serie”.

Su le sue possibilità prima della gara, Duran ha ritenuto che la squadra continuava a progredire nonostante l’uso del powertrain della prima stagione.

Ha detto: “Antonio è stato molto veloce nella prima parte di gara a Buenos Aires e sia la sua velocità che il suo consumo di energia erano entrambi molto buoni. Abbiamo continuato a lavorare da allora per migliorare il nostro consumo di energia e abbiamo trovato molte cose. Credo che sia stata la decisione giusta per noi di continuare con il propulsore dello scorso anno”.

Mexico City, Mexico. 11^th March 2016. Salvador Duran praised the arrival of Formula E in Mexico ahead of the inaugural Mexico City ePrix.

The Team Aguri driver, who will be racing in front of an expected home crowd of 35,000, believes that hosting a Formula E race will be hugely beneficial for Mexico City.

Speaking at the official pre-race press conference, he said: “I think Mexico City is one of the most polluted cities in the world. Formula E shows that we can have great sporting events without contaminating the city and I think that this is something that will change this city. We are making history and that is what this series is about.”

On his chances ahead of the race, Duran felt that the team was continuing to make progress despite using the season one powertrain.

He said: “Antonio was very quick in the first part of the Buenos Aires race and his speed and energy consumption were both very good. We have kept working since then to improve our energy consumption and we have found many things. I think it was the right decision for us to stay with last year’s powertrain.”
