Berlino, Germania. 20 maggio 2016. 19 maggio 2016. Renault e.dams è lieta di confermare Sébastien Buemi e Nicolas Prost per il campionato 2016-17 del FIA Formula E Championship.

Sébastien e Nicolas continueranno la loro partnership di successo per la terza stagione consecutiva. Finora il duo ha segnato sei vittorie ed ha aiutato la Renault e.dams a vincere il titolo inaugurale 2014-15 del campionato squadre. Sébastien è attualmente secondo in classifica piloti, a soli 11 punti dal leader, mentre Nico è sesto. Renault e.dams è leader nella classifica squadre con un vantaggio di sette punti.

L’annuncio della conferma piloti completa la visione a lungo termine di Renault e.Dams. Renault ed e.Dams hanno finalizzato termini all’inizio di quest’anno per continuare la loro collaborazione per creare una piattaforma stabile per il futuro e consentire Renault di realizzare i propri obiettivi tecnici e di marketing in tutto il mercato dei veicoli elettrici.

Alla vigilia del Berlino ePrix, Alain Prost, Team Manager, ha commentato:

“Ci sono alcune decisioni che sono difficili da prendere ed altre che sono logiche, e questa è sicuramente la seconda. Séb ha dimostrato di essere veloce conseguendo due vittorie finora quest’anno ed è in lotta per il campionato per la seconda stagione di fila. Nico ha dimostrato coerenza e ha raggiunto una serie di risultati importanti. Siamo in grado di costruire il futuro su questo e guardare avanti ad un solido fine stagione e una terza stagione di ancora più successo insieme’.

Jean-Paul Driot, Team Manager, ha detto:

“Ogni anno i nostri obiettivi diventano più importanti, quindi la stabilità è la chiave per il successo. Ma non abbiamo sacrificato la velocità per la stabilità: Seb e Nico sono il miglior accoppiamento della serie. Non solo funzionano molto bene insieme, entrambi sono rapidi, professionali e di mentalità tecnica e così ci permettono di ottenere il massimo dalla Renault Z.E15. Procedere a tale annuncio ora significa che possiamo concentrarci sui nostri obiettivi per questa stagione; vincendo entrambi i campionati”.

Sébastien Buemi ha dichiarato:

“Sapere che sarò in un’auto Renault e.Dams l’anno prossimo è una spinta definitiva a questo punto dell’anno. Sono totalmente focalizzato a vincere il titolo in questa stagione e sapendo che avrò la potenziale possibilità di difenderlo è molto motivante. Abbiamo delle buone cosa insieme: la squadra si è amalgamata bene insieme, abbiamo un forte sostegno da Renault e Nico ed io siamo molto complementari. Mantenere questo in un campionato che cresce è un vero e positivo per la squadra”.

Nico Prost, ha detto:

“Renault e.Dams è sicuramente tra i top team della Formula E, non c’è dubbio. L’impegno tecnico da Renault e.Dams funziona molto bene e abbiamo una delle vetture più veloci in campo, se non la più veloce. Sono sicuro che porteremo lo slancio in avanti nella prossima stagione, quindi sono davvero contento di essere in grado di continuare con la squadra per il terzo anno”.

Vincent Gaillardot, Renault Sport Project Leader, ha dichiarato in occasione dell’annuncio:

“Formula E è la piattaforma ideale per Renault per spingere lo sviluppo degli EV al fine di rimanere in prima linea in questo settore. Per sviluppare meglio la nostra tecnologia abbiamo bisogno di due piloti intelligenti e tecnicamente abili che sono in grado di lavorare bene insieme come parte di una squadra. Abbiamo anche bisogno di due piloti che sono pronti sulla buona strada per soddisfare i nostri desideri sportivi! Con la Seb e Nico abbiamo esattamente questo e abbiamo beneficiato dei loro sforzi nelle ultime due stagioni. Ci auguriamo di poter continuare a fornire un’auto al più alto livello in pista e in ultima analisi, portare come risultato degli entusiasmanti sviluppi degli EV alla nostra gamma stradale.

Renault e.dams confirm Buemi and Prost for 2016-17 season

Berlin, Germany. May 20, 2016. Renault e.dams is pleased to confirm Sébastien Buemi and Nicolas Prost are retained for the 2016-17 FIA Formula E Championship.

Sébastien and Nicolas will continue their successful partnership for a third consecutive season. So far the duo has scored six wins and aided Renault e.dams to the inaugural 2014-15 Teams’ title. Sébastien is currently second in the Drivers’ championship, just 11 points behind the leader, while Nico is sixth. Renault e.dams is leading the Teams’ championship with an advantage of seven points.

The driver announcement completes Renault e.dams’ long-term vision. Renault and e.dams finalised terms earlier this year to continue their partnership to create a stable platform going forward and enable Renault to realise its technical and marketing objectives around the growing electric vehicle market.

On the eve of the Berlin ePrix Alain Prost, Senior Team Manager, commented:

“There are some decisions that are hard to make and others that are logical, and this is definitely the latter. Séb has shown his speed time and time again with two wins so far this year and is fighting for the championship for the second season in a row. Nico has demonstrated consistency and has achieved a string of strong results. We can build on this and look forward to a solid end to the year and an even more successful third season together.”

“Each year our objectives get tougher and tougher, so stability is key to success. But we haven’t sacrificed speed for steadiness: Séb and Nico are the best pairing in the series. Sébastien Buemi ha detto:

“Knowing I will be in the Renault e.dams car next year is a definite boost at this point in the year. I’m totally focussed on winning the title this season and knowing that I will be around to potentially defend it is very motivating. We’ve got a good thing going: the team has gelled well together, we have strong solid support from Renault and Nico and I are very complementary. Keeping this going as the championship grows is a real positive for the team”.

Nico Prost:

“Renault e.dams is definitely amongst the top Formula E teams, no question. The technical commitment from Renault e.dams works extremely well and we have one of the quickest cars in the field, if not the quickest. I’m sure we will carry the momentum forward into the next season so I’m really pleased to be able to continue with the team for a third year.”
