Nuovo capo di “DS Performance”

Parigi, Francia. 3 dicembre 2015. Iscritta al FIA di Formula E Championship sotto partnership con Virgin Racing, DS Automobiles ha creato ad agosto 2015 la sua divisione motorsport, DS Performance.

Xavier Mestelan Pinon è stato nominato capo DS Performance a partire dal 1 gennaio 2016.

Nel mese di giugno 2015, DS Automobiles ha annunciato il suo impegno nel FIA Formula E Championship, il cui gare si svolgono con monoposto nelle principali città di tutto il mondo. I due partner uniscono le loro forze e formano il team DS Virgin Racing.

Per sfruttare la propria competenza tecnologica nella ricerca e sviluppo in Formula E, Automobiles DS ha istituito una divisione motorsport, chiamata DS Performance. Ingegneri DS Performance hanno contribuito allo sviluppo della trasmissione della monoposto da corsa DSV-01 del team DS Virgin Racing. Inoltre hanno progettato il sistema di raffreddamento della vettura, le sospensioni posteriori e la trasmissione.

Xavier Mestelan Pinon è stato nominato capo DS Performance dal 1º gennaio 2016.

Xavier Mestelan Pinon, laureato della scuola di ingegneria Estaca, ha raggiunto Citroën Sport nel 1995 con iniziale compito in operazioni di clienti-corse. Nel 2000 ha diretto le operazioni della Xsara Kit di Bruno Thiry nel campionato europeo e la macchina di Sébastien Loeb nel Var Rally. Si è rivelato una combinazione vincente!

I suoi legami di carriera sono in stretto contatto con le prestazioni di successo del Citroën Racing: è stato messo a capo delle operazioni del programma WRC, nel 2001, poi nominato direttore telaio nel 2003 è diventato capo del dipartimento tecnico nel marzo 2005, poi vice direttore del Citroën Racing nel gennaio 2012.

La sede operativa DS Performance si basa a Versailles Satory, vicino a Parigi, e fa parte del Centro di Eccellenza PSA Motorsports.

Paris, France. 3 December 2015. Enrolled in the FIA Formula E Championship under partnership with Virgin Racing, DS Automobiles created in August 2015 its motorsport division, DS Performance.

Xavier Mestelan Pinon is appointed head of DS Performance starting from 1 January 2016.

In June 2015, DS Automobiles announced its engagement in the FIA Formula E Championship, whose races are run by all-electric single-sitter cars at centrally located racetracks in major cities around the world. The two partners join their forces and form the DS Virgin Racing team.

To harness its technological expertise in research and development in Formula E, DS Automobiles set up a motorsport division, named DS Performance. DS Performance engineers have contributed to the development of the drivetrain of the DSV-01, the DS Virgin Racing team’s racing car. They also designed the car’s cooling system, rear suspension and transmission.

Xavier Mestelan Pinon is appointed head of DS Performance on 1 January 2016.

Xavier Mestelan Pinon, a graduate of the Estaca engineering school, joined Citroën Sport in 1995 with initial duties in customer-competition operations. In 2000 he took charge of operations for Bruno Thiry’s Xsara Kit-Car in the European championship and Sébastien Loeb’s car in the Var Rally. It proved a winning combination!

His career ties in closely with the successful performance of the Citroën World Rally Team: he was put in charge of WRC programme operations in 2001, then appointed chassis manager in 2003. He became head of the technical department in March 2005, then deputy director of Citroën Racing in January 2012.

DS Performance is based at Versailles Satory, near Paris, and is part of the PSA Motorsports Centre of Excellence.
