Molti problemi per il Trulli Formula E Team

Buenos Aires, Argentina. 10 Gennaio 2015.

Lucio Cavuto, Team Principal

A lot of troubles to the Trulli Formula E Team

Buenos Aires, Argentina – January 10, 2015. After round four in Buenos Aires, Trulli Formula E remains on the 12 points they scored in round three, in Punta Del Este. Formula E has so far been quite unpredictable both podium and points wise so the team are still confident that they can make a good result at the end of the inaugural season.

Michela Cerruti, P20

“Again I’m out of the points, which is very disappointing of course. Spinning out already in lap one meant i quickly had to box and change car to have a chance to get some more lap times in. I feel sorry for my team who are all working very hard to make all of this happen – so I’d like to extend a very big thank you to them for this.

Knowing I had only one car meant that I was out of the game early as the battery can’t last a whole race, but we managed to get some good practice on the track and at this point, all experience is welcome. It’s great for me to work with Jarno who has so much experience in street circuits, now I just have to put everything I learnt to practice.

Now we go back to the drawing board and see what we can do different for Miami where I really hope my luck will change I will score my first points.”

Jarno Trulli, P16

“First of all I would like to thank the mechanics, the engineers our sponsors and the rest of the team for all their hard work. Without them, none of this would be possible. I’d also like to thank the Saudi Arabian ambassador in Italy for coming by the garage to wish me good luck.

The problems and bad luck from this morning’s qualifying spin-out proved to be without end today. Starting at the bottom of the grid is never easy, but we made some good progress climbing the ranks. After the car-change we made even better progress, but the luck only lastsed until lap 33 when the engine shut down and I had to box. My mechanics are having a look at the moment and will amend it in time for Miami. To sum up today, so close, yet so far.

Despite being without points this time, we’ve showed what we can do and I’m confident that the Miami ePrix will be successful.”

Lucio Cavuto, Team Principal

“Like Jarno and Michela, I would like to start with thanking the mechanics, engineers, our sponsor Jihua and the rest of our team for the hard work they put in this weekend. A special thanks to the mechanics who managed to put Jarno’s car back together in time for the race after quite a bad crash in the qualifying race earlier today. Full on team work made it all happen.

Neither Jarno nor Michela had the best of race days with a lot of spin outs.

It’s been a weekend of mixed feelings for us. Until qualifying it was very good and both drivers were increasing their potential, even Michela with only one lap. The cars have been going in a good speed and the preparation for the weekend has been excellent. Sadly, they both had driving mistakes leading to low grid positions.

During the race Michela had a driving mistake already in lap one leaving her having to abandom one car and quickly box to jump in the other one. Knowing that a battery can’t last a whole race, even on a slow map made it impossible for her to finish the race.

Despite being P20 on the starting grid and having one car to rebuild from qualifying, we managed to produce a good race until the very last minute when an electrical problem caused Jarno to retire. It’s a real shame as he easily could have ended up 6th.

Even if the result doesn’t show, this was the race where both drivers showed the best potential so far.

We’d also like to extend our thanks to the organisation, the city of Buenos Aires and all parties involved in creating this astonishing race. The facilities are state of the art and some of the best in motorsport. The Argentinean people are very welcoming and their food is fantastic.

Now we move on with our lessons learnt and ideas of even more improvement for the Miami ePrix”.
