Buenos Aires, Argentina. 6 Febbraio 2016. Mahindra Racing ha segnato un doppio arrivo nei punti nel Buenos Aires ePrix con Nick Heidfeld e Bruno Senna finendo rispettivamente in P7 e P10.

Mahindra Racing è stata una delle uniche due squadre ad avere entrambi i piloti nei punti in gara.

Con molte macchine che hanno sofferto dei problemi legati al caldo in pista, il team si è concentrato sulla corsa pulita, un’attenta gestione termica e precisi cambio auto durante la fase di pit stop per riuscire a dare battaglia in zona punti.

Il round argentino del FIA Formula E Championship ha segnato anche il ritorno di Nick Heidfeld alla squadra dopo il suo infortunio alla mano.

# 23 Nick Heidfeld ha detto:

“Certo, ci sarà sempre lo scopo di finire meglio della settima posizione, ma è importante segnare punti al mio ritorno. Qualche settimana fa, ho potuto fare ben poco con la mia mano e sono entusiasta di essere riuscito a tornare in macchina e spingere immediatamente. Entrambi nei punti è un risultato solido per noi. E ora che sono in forma e sono tornato in macchina punto a costruire il meglio. Vorrei anche ringraziare Adam Carroll per il suo supporto per tutto il fine settimana che ma ha fatto sentire in grado di correre”.

# 21 Bruno Senna ha dichiarato:

“Questa gara è stata un ritorno a quello che venivamo costruendo nelle prime gare ed è stato duramente guadagnato. La M2Electro ha dato buoni risultati e il lavoro fatto durante i test a Punta del Este sicuramente ha dato i suoi frutti, soprattutto in configurazione gara. E’ importante capitalizzare la nostra affidabilità quando le condizioni sono dure e questo è stato fondamentale per entrambi e ci ha permesso di finire con le due auto nei punti”.

“Devo ringraziare il mio team. Il contatto con il muro in qualifica ha fatto sì che la mia seconda auto era ancora in fase di riparazione nella fiancata destra fino al mio pit stop in gara. Hanno lavorato duramente per avere la macchina pronta e poi abbiamo eseguito cambio macchina perfetto che ci ha aiutato a guadagnare posizioni. Sono contento di aver preso un punto per loro. Noi puntiamo sempre ad guadagnare più punti, ma questo punto appartiene a loro”.

Dilbagh Gill, Team Principal e CEO di Mahindra Racing Formula E ha detto:

“Possiamo essere orgogliosi del risultato di oggi. Abbiamo lavorato molto duro tra ogni round del campionato e questo si è dimostrato in gara.

La squadra ha fatto un ottimo lavoro per preparare la seconda macchina di Bruno a tempo di record dopo il suo incidente in qualifica.

Essi hanno dimostrato oggi la loro esperienza ed un colossale spirito di squadra. E’ stato un momento di orgoglio per Mahindra Racing. Noi godiamo di questo risultato, ma spingiamo per andare più avanti “.

Mahindra: double points finish in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, Argentina. 6h February 2016. Mahindra Racing scored a double points finish in the Buenos Aires ePrix with Nick Heidfeld and Bruno Senna finishing in P7 and P10 respectively.

Mahindra Racing was one of only two teams to have both drivers score points in the race.

With many cars suffering from issues related to the heat at the track, the team focused on clean racing, careful thermal management and precise car swaps during the pit stop phase to battle into points scoring positions.

The Argentinian round of the FIA Formula E Championship also marked the return of Nick Heidfeld to the team following his hand injury.

#23 Nick Heidfeld said:

“Of course, we will always aim to finish higher than P7 but it is great to score points on my return. A few weeks ago, I could do very little with my hand and I’m thrilled that I could get back into the car and push straight away. Double points is a solid result for us. And now that I am fit and back in the car I aim to build on that. I would also like to thank Adam Carroll for his support throughout the weekend as a standby should I have felt unable to race.”

#21 Bruno Senna said:

“This race was a return to the momentum we had been building in the early races but it was hard earned. The M2Electro performed well and the work we did during testing in Punta del Este certainly paid off, particularly in race trim. It is important to capitalize on our reliability when the conditions are tough and this has been key in both our double points finishes so far this season.”

“I have to thank my team. The contact with the wall in qualifying meant that my second car was still being repaired right until my pit stop in the race. They worked incredibly hard to get the car ready and then performed a flawless car swap which helped us gain positions. I am glad to win a point for them. We will always aim for more points but this point belongs to them.”

“We can be proud of today’s result. We work very hard between each round of the Championship and that showed in the race.

The team did a fantastic job to prepare Bruno’s second car in record time after his incident in qualifying.

They showed their experience and colossal team spirit today. It was a proud moment for Mahindra Racing.

We will enjoy this result but push for more going forward.”
