Go-Ahead sceglie di andare in elettrico sul percorso 360 di TfL

Londra, Gran Bretagna. 5 Gennaio 2017. Poche settimane dopo l’inaugurazione della più grande flotta di autobus elettrici d’Europa, Transport for London, l’operatore di Go-Ahead, ha scelto la partnership vincente BYD-ADL (Alexander Dennis Ltd) per la fornitura di una flotta di 14 autobus da 10,8 metri BYD ADL Enviro200 EV per operare sul suo percorso 360 . Questo è il primo ordine che BYD e ADL hanno vinto per il nuovo modello da 10,8m.

Il percorso 360 attraversa alcune delle zone più prestigiose della capitale del Regno Unito, che collega South Kensington con Chelsea, Sloane Square e Vauxhall prima di terminare a Elephant and Castle. Gli autobus saranno basati nel garage Camberwell di Go Ahead in cui BYD installerà 14 dei propri carica batterie.

Richard Harrington, Direttore tecnico di Go-Ahead Group, ha dichiarato in merito alla decisione di ordinare il 10,8 BYD ADL Enviro200 EV:

“L’esperienza maturata nei percorsi elettrizzati 521 e 507 di Waterloo è stata fondamentale nel decidere con chi lavorare sulla Route 360. Avere la fiducia che il prodotto può funzionare per le strade di Londra ed è in grado di eseguire un giorno intero, senza la necessità di ricaricare, mette questo prodotto in testa di quello che sta diventando un mercato molto competitivo”.

Annunciando il nuovo ordine, per il quale BYD è ancora una volta prime contractor, BYD UK Country Manager Frank Thorpe ha detto:

“Ciò sottolinea la forza della nostra offerta congiunta e non vediamo l’ora di lavorare di nuovo con Go-Ahead Londra su questo entusiasmante progetto. Anticipiamo la consegna dei veicoli, nella seconda metà del 2017”.

Robert Davey, Commercial and Business Development Director di ADL Group, ha commentato:

Go-Ahead chooses to go electric on TfL Route 360

London, UK. 5th January 2017. Just weeks after the inauguration of Europe’s biggest electric bus fleet, Transport for London operator Go-Ahead has selected the winning BYD-ADL (Alexander Dennis Ltd) partnership to supply a fleet of 14 10.8m BYD ADL Enviro200 EV buses to operate its 360 route. This is the first order BYD and ADL have won for the new 10.8m model.

The 360 route passes through some of the UK capital’s most prestigious areas, connecting South Kensington with Chelsea, Sloane Square and Vauxhall before terminating at the Elephant and Castle. The buses will be based at Go-Ahead’s Camberwell garage where BYD will install 14 of its own design charging posts.

Richard Harrington, Engineering Director at Go-Ahead Group, said about the decision to order the 10.8m BYD ADL Enviro200 EV:

“The experience gained in electrifying routes 521 and 507 out of Waterloo was pivotal in deciding who to work with on route 360. Having the confidence that the product can operate on London’s streets and is capable of running a whole day without the need to recharge put this product to the front of what is becoming a very competitive market”.

Announcing the new order, for which BYD is again prime contractor, BYD’s UK Country Manager Frank Thorpe said:

“This underlines the strength of our joint offer and we again look forward to working with Go-Ahead London on this exciting project. We anticipate delivering the vehicles in the second half of 2017”.
