Primo e-Touring Car Challenge del mondo

25 Luglio 2016. Formula Racing Development Limited (FRD) ha lanciato con successo una macchina da corsa elettrica per il primo e-Touring Car Challenge al mondo che si terrà l’8 ottobre come una corsa di supporto del FIA Formula E Hong Kong ePrix 2016.

Il tre volte campione del China Touring Car Championship (CTCC), Andy Yan, la nota star del cinema d’azione Chin Ka-lok ed il popolare cantante di Hong Kong Pakho Chau sono stati i piloti invitati a sperimentare il primo tentativo in pista della vettura da corsa.

Andy Yan, attualmente il pilota in testa alla serie della Changan Ford Racing Team, ha detto che il risultato del test è all’altezza delle aspettative di un pilota professionista e che le corse su una macchina elettrica potrebbero essere impegnative ed emozionanti come correre su altre auto da corsa.

“Le auto elettriche saranno il futuro quando le persone diventeranno più consapevoli in materia di protezione ambientale. Ecco perché abbiamo la versione elettrica in Formula Events. Credo che ci saranno più corse di auto elettriche nel prossimo futuro”, ha detto Chin Ka-lok, che si è anche dichiarato come un partecipante frequente di corse automobilistiche con oltre 20 anni di esperienza nelle corse.

“Le auto elettriche emanano un senso di tecnologia e la guida di una vettura da corsa elettrica è del tutto nuova per me. Spero di poter avere più pratiche prima della gara del mese di ottobre “, ha detto Pakho dopo la prova.

Sotto la guida di Andy, Pakho prevede di partecipare alla Clio Cup China Series prima dell’e-Touring Car Challenge del mese di ottobre.

FRD inizierà la costruzione completa a breve per preparare questa gara. Dal momento che tutte le auto saranno modificate con le stesse specifiche, le capacità dei piloti saranno la chiave del successo in gara ed al pubblico è garantita una gara entusiasmante.

Formula Racing Development Limited (FRD) has successfully launched an electric racing car for the world’s first-ever e-Touring Car Challenge to be held on 8 October as a supporting race of 2016 FIA Formula E Hong Kong ePrix. Three-time Drivers’ Champion of the China Touring Car Championship (CTCC), Andy Yan, renowned action movie star Chin Ka-lok and popular Hong Kong singer Pakho Chau were invited to experience the very first track attempt of the racing car.

Andy Yan, currently a seeded driver of the Changan Ford Racing Team, said the test result lived up to a professional’s driver expectation and racing on an electric car could be as challenging and exciting as racing on other racing cars.

“Electric cars will be the future as people become more conscious on environmental protection. That’s why we have electric version for the Formula events. I believe there will be more electric car races in the near future”, said Chin Ka-lok, who himself is also a frequent participant of motorsport races with over 20 years racing experience.

“Electric cars exude a sense of technology and driving an electric racing car is totally new to me. I hope I could have more practices before the race in October”, said Pakho after the test.

Under the coaching of Andy, Pakho is expected to take part in the Clio Cup China Series before the e-Touring Car Challenge in October.

FRD will commence the full field build shortly to prepare for this one-make race. Since all cars will be modified with the same specifications, the drivers’ skills will be the key to success at the race and audience are guaranteed an exciting race.
