Parigi, Francia. 12 Dicembre 2015. Lo storico “Accordo di Parigi” firmato da quasi 200 paesi oggi in Francia, è stato applaudito dal FIA di Formula E Championship.

A conclusione della Conferenza sul cambiamento climatico COP21 delle Nazioni Unite, dopo intensi negoziati, i governi di tutto il mondo hanno per la prima volta raggiunto un accordo universale per ridurre le emissioni di gas serra, una mossa che effettivamente segna la fine dell’era dei combustibili fossili entro la fine del secolo.

E’ obiettivo dichiarato della Formula E di promuovere l’immagine delle auto elettriche e guidare lo sviluppo della tecnologia dei veicoli elettrici. Affinché l’obiettivo di limitare gli aumenti della temperatura globale a meno di 2°C (3.6F) sopra i livelli pre-industriali, come indicato nel contratto giuridicamente vincolante, le auto elettriche dovranno svolgere un ruolo di primo piano.

“L’accordo di Parigi è una pietra miliare nella lotta contro il cambiamento climatico”, ha detto il CEO di Formula E Alejandro Agag. “Questa è la più grande minaccia che il pianeta deve affrontare in questo momento, e sarà solo attraverso l’azione universale che si ottiene un reale cambiamento. Gli obiettivi che sono stati fissati sono duri, ma sappiamo che aumentando la quantità dei veicoli elettrici stradali si può svolgere un ruolo importante nella riduzione delle emissioni di CO2”.

Formula E welcomes ‘the Paris Outcome’

Paris, France. December 12^th, 2015. The historic ‘Paris Outcome’ agreement signed by almost 200 countries today in France, has been applauded by the FIA Formula E Championship.

At the conclusion of the UN’s COP21 climate change conference, after intense negotiations, governments across the world have for the first time reached a universal agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, a move that will effectively signal the end of the fossil fuel era by the end of the century.

It is Formula E’s stated aim to promote the image of electric cars and to drive the development of electric vehicle technology. In order for the target of restricting global temperature rises to less than 2C (3.6F) over the pre-Industrial levels, as outlined in the legally-binding agreement, electric cars will have to play a prominent role.

“The agreement in Paris is a landmark moment in the fight against climate change,” said Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag. “This is the greatest threat the planet faces at the moment, and it will only be through universal action that real change is achieved. The targets that have been set are tough, but we know that increasing the amount of electric vehicles on the road can play an important role in reducing CO2 emissions.”
