Costituita l’Associazione dei Team di Formula E

Putrajaya, Malesia. 21 November 2014. Le squadre che corrono nel campionato inaugurale di Formula E hanno annunciato oggi che hanno recentemente costituito la Formula E Teams Association, che avrà sede a Londra, nel Regno Unito.

L’associazione fornirà un forum per rispondere alla Formula E Holdings e la FIA su questioni che riguardano le squadre. Gli obiettivi dell’associazione sono di garantire che il campionato rimanga un intrattenimento competitivo e avvincente, pur mantenendo il controllo dei costi e la sostenibilità commerciale della serie.

L’associazione inoltre mira a suggerire una roadmap di sviluppo per le prossime stagioni che guideranno l’innovazione tecnica e di attrarre la partecipazione dei principali costruttori di automobili, mentre in ogni momento cercherà di mantenere, coinvolgere e aumentare i fan del campionato.

Il Presidente della Formula E Teams Association sarà Alex Tai di Virgin Racing, mentre Jean-Paul Driot di e.dams-Renault e Thomas Biermaier di Audi Sport ABT sono stati eletti dai team come vicepresidenti. Risalendo il tecnico

Il responsabile del gruppo di lavoro tecnico sarà Dilbagh Gill (Mahindra Racing). Oliver Weingarten, ex FOTA e Premier League, è stato nominato come Segretario generale ad interim, per fornire il sostegno necessario alle squadre (via OW Advisory Limited).

Il Presidente – Alex Tai di Virgin Racing ha dichiarato:

“Sono felice perchè abbiamo creato l’associazione dei team che crea un forum vitale per le discussioni con le parti interessate. E’ nell’interesse di tutti che la Formula E sia un successo, e le squadre vogliono fare la loro parte per garantire questo.

Siamo lieti di aver portato Oliver a bordo; lui porta con sé una ricchezza di esperienza in Formula Uno e nella Premier League inglese e sarà una grande risorsa. Le squadre potranno essere sicure che non ci sarà nessuna questione che non venga affrontata, ma ora siamo in grado di operare attraverso queste sfide insieme, e con una sola voce, per il vantaggio del campionato”.

Alberto Longo, Amministratore Delegato e Deputy CEO di Formula E Holdings Limited ha detto:

Formation of The Formula E Teams Association

Putrajaya, Maleysia. November 21, 2014. The teams competing in the inaugural FIA Formula E Championship are announcing today that they have recently formed the Formula E Teams’ Association, which will operate from London, UK.

The association will provide a forum to respond to Formula E Holdings and the FIA on issues impacting the teams. The association’s goals are to ensure the championship remains competitive and compelling entertainment whilst maintaining cost control and the commercial sustainability of the series. The association also aims to suggest a development roadmap for the coming seasons which will drive technical innovation and attract the participation of the major car manufacturers, whilst at all times will seek to maintain, engage and increase the championship’s fan base.

Chairman of the Formula E Teams’ Association will be Virgin Racing’s Alex Tai, whilst Jean-Paul Driot of e.dams-Renault and Thomas Biermaier of Audi Sport ABT have been elected by the teams as Vice-Chairmen. Heading up the Technical Working Group will be Dilbagh Gill (Mahindra Racing).

Oliver Weingarten, formerly of FOTA and the Premier League has been appointed as the interim General Secretary, to provide requisite support to the teams (via OW Advisory Limited).

It is in everybody’s interest that Formula E is a success, and the teams want to play their part to ensure this. We are delighted to have brought Oliver on board; he brings with him a wealth of experience from Formula One and The English Premier League and will be a great asset. The teams are under no illusion that there will be issues that need to be addressed, but now we will be able to work through these challenges together, and with one voice, for the benefit of the championship.”
