Buenos Aires, Argentina. 5 febbraio, 2016. La capitale argentina Buenos Aires ospita il quarto round della stagione 2015/16 del campionato FIA di Formula-E in questo fine settimana.

Il circuito si trova nel quartiere di Puerto Madero. La gara avrà inizio alle 16:00 ora locale e le monoposto elettriche correranno per 35 giri su una pista 2,49 km con 12 curve.

“Questa gara si preannuncia emozionante e una vera e propria sfida”, afferma Franck Baldet, Team Principal Venturi Formula E Team. “Le strade sono larghe, quindi c’è la tentazione di andare veloce. Ma, siamo nel sud del mondo e qui siamo in piena estate quindi la temperatura sarà compresa tra 28 e 32° C e le batterie potrebbero soffrire il caldo. Guidare nel campionato di Formula E è una vera e propria partita a scacchi, perché ci sono molti elementi che si intersecano”.

Questa gara segna un’occasione speciale per la squadra Venturi con un nuovo duo di piloti. Stéphane Sarrazin e il suo compagno di squadra britannico Mike Conway correranno insieme per la prima volta nella serie Formula E, anche se sono anche compagni di squadra nel WEC con la Toyota. Mike è entrato nel team Venturi di Formula E per il resto della stagione 2015/2016. La guida di una monoposto elettrica non è qualcosa di totalmente nuovo per lui.

Conway ha avuto la possibilità di guidare molto l’auto di Formul E durante test pochi mesi fa e ha fatto un ottimo lavoro al simulatore la scorsa settimana. Tuttavia, Conway ha un’affinità per i circuiti cittadini e molta esperienza nelle corse – così lui è impaziente di questo fine settimana in Argentina.

Mike ha detto: “La pista sembra divertente, ma questo fine settimana devo essere paziente, non dovrò essere eccitato, devo imparare e adattarmi il più velocemente possibile a questo modo di guidare e gestire l’energia».

Conway ready for Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, Argentina. February 5, 2016. The Argentine capital Buenos Aires is hosting the fourth round of the 2015/16 season of the FIA Formula-E championship this weekend.

The circuit is located in the Puerto Madero neighborhood. The race will start at 4 pm local time and the electric single seaters will race for 35 laps on a 2.49km track with 12 turns.

“This race promises to be exciting and a real challenge” says Franck Baldet, Venturi Formula E Team team principal “The streets are wide, so there’s the temptation to go fast. But, we’re in the southern hemisphere and it is summer so the temperature will be between 28 and 32 °C and the batteries could suffer from the heat. Driving in the Formula-E championship is a real game of chess because there are a lot of elements that intersect.”

This race marks a special occasion for the Venturi team with a new duo of drivers. Stéphane Sarrazin and his British teammate Mike Conway will race together for the first time in the Formula-E series, although they are also teammates in WEC for Toyota. Mike joined the Venturi Formula-E team for the remainder of the 2015/2016 season. Driving an electric single seater is not something totally new for him.

Conway has had a chance to drive Formulae cars extensively in a testing environment a few months ago and did a great job on the simulator last week. However, Conway has an affinity for street circuits and plenty of experience racing – so he is looking forward to this weekend in Argentina.
