Volvo Cars registra vendite globali in aumento del 10,5% nel mese di aprile

Bologna, Italia. 3 Maggio 2017. Volvo Cars, la Casa automobilistica specializzata in vetture di lusso, ha iniziato bene il secondo trimestre riportando nel mese di aprile un incremento delle vendite globali a privati pari al 10,5%. Tutte e tre le aree geografiche più importanti per le vendite di Volvo Cars hanno contribuito a questo incremento a doppia cifra.

Complessivamente, nel corso del mese sono state vendute 46.895 unità, rispetto alle 42.434 dell’anno precedente. La crescita registrata nei primi quattro mesi del 2017 risulta pari all’8%.

La domanda forte e stabile dei nuovi modelli della Serie 90 continua ad essere un fattore determinante del risultato commerciale positivo conseguito da Volvo, mentre la versione originale della XC60 continua ad affermarsi come modello più venduto in generale. La nuova XC60 di seconda generazione è entrata in produzione la scorsa settimana e le prime vetture verranno consegnate ai clienti a breve.

Nell’area Asia-Pacifico si è registrato un aumento delle vendite del 29,5% in aprile, per un totale di 11.222 vetture, a seguito degli ottimi risultati ottenuti in Cina, il mercato principale di Volvo. Le vendite in Cina sono cresciute del 38,3%, arrivando a 8.687 unità, grazie alla forte domanda concentratasi sui modelli S90, XC60 e S60L prodotti localmente.

Il mercato americano nel suo complesso ha ricominciato a crescere nel mese di aprile, evidenziando ottimi risultati in particolare sul mercato statunitense. Le vendite nella regione sono state pari a 8.411 unità, cioè in aumento del 14% rispetto allo stesso periodo dell’anno precedente, mentre il mercato USA è cresciuto del 15,4% arrivando a vendere 7.121 vetture nel mese. In aprile, l’auto più venduta in questo mercato è stata la XC90, seguita dalla XC60.

Le vendite nell’area EMEA sono aumentate del 3,7% in aprile, arrivando a 26.996 vetture consegnate. Questo soddisfacente risultato è stato determinato da un ottimo andamento nei mercati dell’Europa occidentale. Il SUV medio di lusso più venduto in Europa, il modello XC60, si è riconfermato il best-seller di Volvo in quest’area geografica e si è collocato al primo posto nella classifica dei modelli più venduti in Svezia nel mese di aprile.

Globalmente, nel mese di aprile l’auto più venduta è stata la Volvo XC60, con un totale di 15.434 unità (2016: 11.937), seguita dalla Volvo V40/V40 Cross Country con 7.577 vetture consegnate (7.365). La XC90 si è classificata terza fra i modelli best-seller con 6.397 consegne (8.102). Volvo Cars reports global sales growth of 10.5 per cent in April

Goteborg, Sweden. 2nd May 2017. Volvo Cars, the premium carmaker, saw a good start to the second quarter in April, reporting global retail sales growth of 10.5 per cent for the month. Volvo Cars’ three main sales regions all contributed to the double-digit growth.

Total sales for the month amounted to 46,895 cars, compared to 42,434 cars the year before. Growth for the first four months of 2017 amounted to 8.0 per cent.

Firm demand for the new 90 series cars remains an important factor in Volvo’s positive sales performance, while the original XC60 remains the best-selling model overall. The new, second-generation XC60 went into production last week and the first cars will soon reach customers.

The Asia Pacific region reported sales growth of 29.5 per cent in April to 11,222 cars, on the back of a very encouraging performance in China, Volvo’s largest market. Sales in the country rose 38.3 per cent to 8,687 cars on robust demand for the locally produced S90, XC60 and S60L models.

The Americas region returned to growth in April with a strong performance in the US market. Sales in the region amounted to 8,411 cars, up 14.0 per cent from a year earlier, while the US market grew by 15.4 per cent to 7,121 cars. The XC90 was the best-selling car in the market for the month, followed by the XC60.

Sales in the EMEA region increased by 3.7 per cent in April to 26,996 cars, boosted by a solid performance in the western European markets. Europe’s most popular premium mid-size SUV, the XC60, remained Volvo’s best-seller in the region and claimed the top position for best-selling models in Sweden in April.

Globally, the Volvo XC60 was the best-selling model in April with 15,434 cars sold (2016: 11,937), followed by the Volvo V40/V40 Cross Country with 7,577 cars sold (7,365).
