Miami, USA. 11 Marzo 2015. Dragon Racing ha annunciato che Oriol Servia è stato nominato dalla squadra come socio e amministratore delegato. Servia aveva già guidato la Dragon Racing nelle prime quattro gare, segnando punti ad ogni round.
Loic Duval è stato confermato per sostituire Servià nel prossimo Miami ePrix il 14 marzo.
Duval attualmente compete nel Campionato WEC 2015 per Audi e fu il vincitore delle 24 Ore di Le Mans nel 2013 e Campione del Mondo Endurance, nonché campione dell’ex Formula Nippon e Super GT in Giappone.
“Sono molto lieto di avere Loic con noi nel team Dragon Racing per la prima gara di Formula E negli Stati Uniti” – ha dichiarato Jay Penske, proprietario di Dragon Racing.
“Non è mai facile fare un passo in una nuova serie, ma le sue sessioni di preparazione e di simulazione sono andate particolarmente bene e siamo fiduciosi che sarà pronto per questa sfida. Non vedo l’ora di vedere Loic salire a Miami e sono ansioso di vedere lui e Jerome creare una combinazione vincente”.
“E’ con un certo rammarico che non sarò al volante della Dragon Racing nel Campionato FIA Formula FIA”, ha detto Oriol Servià. “Tuttavia, con Jay avevo sempre parlato di me a giocare un ruolo più importante nell’organizzazione e sono pronto per questa nuova sfida della mia carriera. Abbiamo una squadra di livello mondiale e non vedo l’ora di giocare la mia parte nel mettere Jerome e Loic sul podio”.
Nel ruolo di direttore di co-gestione, Servià sarà responsabile della gestione delle operazioni tecniche di Dragon Racing e di sviluppare le sue relazioni commerciali.

Oriol Servià appointed as director at Dragon Racing

Miami, USA. March 11, 2015. Dragon Racing have announced that Oriol Servia has been appointed at the team as partner and managing director. Servia had previously driven the Dragon Racing entry at the first four races, scoring points at every round.
Loic Duval has been confirmed to replace Servia for the upcoming Miami ePrix on March 14. Duval currently competes in the 2015 WEC programme for Audi and was the 24 Hours of Le Mans winner in 2013 and World Endurance Champion as well as former Formula Nippon and Super GT champion in Japan.
“I am very pleased to have Loic join the Dragon Racing team for the first ever Formula E race in the United States,” said Jay Penske, Owner of Dragon Racing. “It’s never easy to step into a new series, but his preparation and simulation sessions went exceptionally well and we’re confident he’s ready for this challenge. I look forward to seeing Loic ascend in Miami and am eager to watch he and Jerome create a winning combination.”
“It is with some regret that I won’t be behind the wheel of the Dragon Racing entry in the FIA Formula E Championship,” said Oriol Servia. “However, Jay and I had always spoken about me playing a larger role in the organisation, and I am ready for this latest challenge in my career. We have a world-class team, and I look forward to playing my part in putting Jerome and Loic on the podium.”
In the co-managing director role, Servia will be responsible for the management of Dragon Racing’s technical operations and developing its commercial relationships.
