Londra, Gran Bretagna. 25 Dicembre 2014. Beh, quello che è stato quest’anno. E’ iniziato a Las Vegas con la macchina di Formula E in mostra per la prima volta e 12 mesi più tardi abbiamo visto la bandiera a scacchi sventolare sulla nostra terza gara di successo a Punta del Este.
E’ stato un fantastico 2014 e il mio ringraziamento va a tutti i nostri investitori, squadre, piloti, partner, operatori di eventi, la FIA e, naturalmente, il nostro staff per aver fatto questo accada.
E mi stupisce ancora pensare che un po’ più di due anni fa, non avevamo niente. Niente auto, niente squadre, nessun driver, senza circuiti, senza emittenti televisive e senza sponsor.
In realtà, molte persone pensavano che la Formula E non sarebbe mai decollata.
Ma con una grande squadra, insieme alla FIA, sapevamo di avere qualcosa di molto speciale e poco a poco la serie è diventata quello che è oggi – il primo campionato di monoposto completamente elettriche al mondo.
Devo anche fare un ringraziamento particolare a tutti coloro che ci hanno sostenuti fin dall’inizio e che hanno condiviso nella nostra visione di creare un campionato per una nuova generazione di appassionati di automobilismo con la sostenibilità nel cuore.
Infine, colgo l’occasione per augurare a tutti voi un buon Natale e un felice Anno Nuovo.

London, United Kingdom. December 25, 2014. Well, what a year it’s been. It began in Las Vegas showcasing the Formula E car running for the very first time and 12 months later we’re seeing the chequered flag waved on our third successful race in Punta del Este. It’s been a fantastic 2014 and my thanks goes to all our investors, teams, drivers, partners, event operators, the FIA and, of course, our staff for making this happen.
It still amazes me to think that a little over two years’ ago we had nothing. No cars, no teams, no drivers, no circuits, no TV broadcasters and no sponsors. In fact, many people thought Formula E would never take off.
But with a great team, together with the FIA, we knew we had something very special and little by little the series has grown into what it is today – the world’s first fully-electric single-seater series.
I must also pay special thanks to all those who backed us from the very start and who shared in our vision to create a championship for a new generation of motorsport fans with sustainability at its very core.
Finally, let me take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
