La guida della Formula E a Punta del Este

Londra, Gran Bretagna. 5 Dicembre 2014. Sabato prossimo, la città uruguaiana di Punta del Este ospiterà la terza gara di Formula E della stagione.

In vista della manifestazione, diamo uno sguardo alla città e vi presentiamo le spiagge famose, i bar ed i luoghi da visitare sulla penisola glamour conosciuta come la Montecarlo del Sud America.

 

Location

Punta del Este si trova a circa 140 chilometri a est della capitale uruguaiana Montevideo e si compone di diverse città sulla piccola penisola dove il Rio de la Plata incontra l’Oceano Atlantico.

Grazie alla sua posizione favorevole, Punta gode di bel tempo quasi tutto l’anno con temperature che raramente scendono sotto i 10 ° C e una media stagionale nella stagione calda di 25 °C da dicembre a gennaio.

Il tempo che si combina bene con il clima attraente di Punta, permette ai ricchi e famosi di tutto il Sud America di affollare le spiagge, i bar ed i casinò di Punta durante tutto l’anno.

Punta può essere suddivisa in tre aree principali; la penisola che offre la zona principale con molti bar e ristoranti, La Barra è famosa per la sua spiaggia e la sua vita notturna e Jose Ignacio, una zona tranquilla conosciuta per la sua spettacolare bellezza naturale.

 

Ambiente

Come nazione, l’Uruguay è uno dei migliori Paesi al mondo a mitigare il suo impatto sull’ambiente. Grazie ad una serie di iniziative, il basso consumo energetico e le emissioni di CO2 della produzione di energia elettrica sono in diminuzione anno dopo anno.

Il paese si basa molto sulla forza idrica. Sono riusciti a raggiungere una quota di 46 per cento di energie rinnovabili nel mix energetico 2011 (con un grande aumento dal 30 per cento nel 2005).

Progetti ambientali di Uruguay e il loro successo si combinano bene con la splendida location di Punta per mostrare i benefici di una vita sana e sostenibile che la Formula E mira a promuovere.

 

Cose da fare

Lontano dai bar e dalle spiagge, ci sono molte attrazioni e attività da fare e da vedere durante la visita a Punta. Per coloro che desiderano esplorare la cultura locale un viaggio a La Casa Pueblo resort-museo dovrebbe essere in cima alla lista.

Costruita dall’artista uruguaiano Carlos Paez Vilaro, la villa a cascata sulla scogliera offre una vista spettacolare sulla penisola. I visitatori possono imparare tutto sulla vita e le opere di Vilario e c’è anche un albergo e ristorante per coloro che non vogliono andare via subito.

Un altro museo da visitare è il Museo Ralli.

Situato nel quartiere di Punta conosciuta come Beverly Hills, il museo espone una vasta gamma di reperti da molti artisti latinoamericani contemporanei.

Per coloro che desiderano praticare attività fisica nel bel tempo ci sono molti posti per assaggiare sport acquatici, vela, trekking, equitazione e golf.

Ci sono anche numerose visite guidate al villaggio e non si dovrebbe perdere la vista della penisola sul mare.

Isla de los Lobos è la patria di una grande colonia di foche e leoni marini del sud.

L’isola è molto popolare tra gli amanti della natura ed è a poca distanza da Punta.

Altri due luoghi che meritano una visita per gli amanti degli animali sono il Parque Municipal Zoologico Medina zoo e la riserva naturale Zoologico Pan de Azucar, questi sono l’ideale per le famiglie con bambini piccoli.

Ma per coloro che semplicemente desiderano godersi il sole della spiaggia principale è la Playa de Los Dedos, che si trova a La Barra – la sua popolarità significa che questo è il posto giusto per essere visto in Punta.

 

Cibo e vita notturna

Grazie alla sua posizione sul mare, Punta ha un sacco di posti deliziosi per gustare pesce fresco.

I locali  includono anche Chivitos (panini di bistecca) e asado (bistecca).

Come il villaggio è meta di turisti ci sono un gran numero di ristoranti per tutti i gusti e fantasie.

 

Punta è famosa per la sua vita notturna. La maggior parte dei club tendono a darsi da fare tra mezzanotte e le 03:00 continuando fino all’alba. La Barra è l’area principale della città per godere di una notte fuori, ma ci sono anche una serie di casinò e numerose feste in spiaggia.

Lonon, United Kingdom. December 5th, 2014. On Saturday, the Uruguayan resort of Punta del Este will host the third Formula E race of the season. Ahead of the event, we take a look at the city and introduce you to the famous beaches, bars and places to visit on the glamorous peninsular known as the Monaco of South America.

 

Location

Punta del Este is located around 140km east of the Uruguayan capital Montevideo and is made up of several towns on the small peninsular where the Rio de la Plata meets the Atlantic Ocean.

Thanks to its favourable location, Punta enjoys beautiful weather virtually all year round with temperatures rarely dipping below 10°C and a hot seasonal average of 25°C through December to January. With the weather combining well with Punta’s attractive climate, the rich and famous throughout South America flock to Punta’s beaches, bars and casinos throughout the year.

Punta can be divided into three main areas; the Peninsular that provides the main zone with plenty of bars and restaurants, La Barra is famous for its beach and thriving nightlife and Jose Ignacio, a quieter area known for its spectacular natural beauty.

 

Environment

As a nation, Uruguay is one of the best in the world at mitigating its impact on the environment. Thanks to a number of initiatives, low energy and CO2 emissions from electricity generation are decreasing year after year.

The country relies heavily on hydropower. They have managed to reach a 46 per cent share of renewable energy in the 2011 energy mix (a big increase from 30 per cent in 2005).

Uruguay’s environmental projects and their success combine well with the beautiful location of Punta to showcase the benefit of healthy and sustainable living that Formula E aims to promote.

 

Things to do

Away from the bars and beaches, there are many sights and activities to see and do while visiting Punta. For those seeking to explore the local culture a trip to La Casa Pueblo resort-museum should be at the top of your list. Built by the Uruguayan artist Carlos Paez Vilaro, the villa cascade down a cliff and provides spectacular views across the peninsular. Visitors can learn all about Vilario’s life and works and there is also a hotel and restaurant for those who don’t wish to leave too soon.

Another museum worth a visit is the Museo Ralli. Located in the Punta suburb known as Beverly Hills, the museum displays a broad range of exhibits by many contemporary Latin American artists.

For those wanting to enjoy physical activities in the beautiful weather there are plenty of places to sample watersports, sailing, hiking, horse riding or golf. There are also numerous guided tours of the resort and you should not miss out on viewing the peninsular from the sea.

The Isla de los Lobos is home to a large colony of southern fur seals and sea lions. The island is very popular with nature lovers and is just a short trip away from Punta. Two other places worth a visit for animal lovers are the Parque Municipal Zoologico Medina zoo and the Zoologico Pan de Azucar nature reserve,  these are ideal for families with small children.

But for those who simply wish to enjoy the sun the main beach is the Playa de Los Dedos, which is located in La Barra – its popularity means this is the place to be seen in Punta.

 

Food and nightlife

Thanks to its glorious seaside location, Punta has plenty of delicious places to sample fresh seafood. Local favourites also include Chivitos (steak sandwiches) and asado (steak). As the resort is popular with tourists there are a large number of restaurants catering to every taste and fancy.

Punta is famous for its nightlife. Most clubs tend to get busy between midnight and 3am with the parties continuing up until dawn. La Barra is the main area of the town to enjoy a night out but there are also a number of casinos to sample and numerous beach parties.
