Londra, Gran Bretagna. 5 Febbraio 2016.

London, UK. 5 February 2016. The FIA Formula E Championship has been shortlisted in two categories for the prestigious BT Sport Industry Awards.

The fully-electric racing series, which was launched in 2014, has made the final list in Brand of the Year and the Cutting Edge Sport Award.

Ali Russell, Director of Media and Communications at Formula E, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to have made the shortlist in these two categories. Looking at the opposition we are up against – adidas, Eurosport, UFC and the Hawk-Eye technology from the Rugby World Cup to name just four – shows what an amazing job the team at Formula E have done in such a short space of time, and how our philosophy of embracing inclusivity in sport is really working. It’s a great honour to have made it this far and it would be truly sensational if we were able to win one of them!”

The official shortlist was selected through an extensive steering process – involving more than 70 key industry figures and 40 hours of intensive judging, fully overseen by EY – and will now go forward for consideration by the main judging panel, who will decide the winners in each category.

The winners will be announced at the BT Sport Industry Awards on April 28 2016.
