Il concorrente per il Campionato Sam Bird scopre la promozione dello sport per i giovani

Londra, Gran Bretagna. 16 giugno 2016. Il FIA di Formula E Championship sta collaborando con StreetGames carità prima dell’appuntamento del prossimo mese a Londra per il VISA ePrix, come parte del nostro programma di lascito per il futuro e l’impegno di stabilire un patrimonio positivo sulla sostenibilità.

Il concorrente per il campionato Sam Bird sta tornando alle sue radici raggiungendo Roehampton FC per un mini torneo di calcio che si terrà il Lunedi, 27 giugno prossimo.

Il pilota DS Virgin Racing, che ha preso una vittoria e due pole position in questa stagione, ha dichiarato:

“Sono nato a Roehampton, ma non sono stato lì per un lungo periodo di tempo, quindi non vedo l’ora di incontrarmi con la squadra StreetGames. Se non fossi stato un pilota da corsa, mi piacerebbe pensare che avrei potuto avere una carriera di calciatore professionista, quindi potrei essere in grado di dare loro alcuni suggerimenti e suggerimenti su controllo di palla spiegando controllo della vettura!”

Il suo moto è ‘Cambiare Sport, Cambiare Comunità, Cambiare Vita’, ed è un brillante esempio di come lo sport può essere utilizzato come un potente strumento per il cambiamento sociale e l’aumento del benessere nei giovani.

StreetGames sarà rappresentata nell’eVillage, dove verranno organizzate una serie di attività da divertimento, tra cui il calcetto ed il frisbee dove tutti potranno essere coinvolti.

Championship contender Sam Bird turns out for youth sport promotion

London, UK. June 16 2016. The FIA Formula E Championship is collaborating with the StreetGames charity ahead of next month’s Visa London ePrix, as part of our legacy programme and commitment to establish a positive heritage on sustainability.

Championship contender Sam Bird is returning to his roots and joining Roehampton FC for a mini football tournament taking place on Monday, June 27.

The DS Virgin Racing driver, who has taken one win and two pole positions this season, said:

“I was born in Roehampton, but I haven’t been back in a long time, so I’m looking forward to meeting up with the StreetGames team there. If I hadn’t been a racing driver, I’d like to think I could have had a career as a professional footballer, so I might be able to give them a few hints and tips on ball control as well as explaining car control!”

Jane Ashworth, CEO of StreetGames, said:

“Formula E will be bigger than ever this year and that’s why we’re delighted to be chosen as their first local charity collaboration in the UK. With the support of Formula E and the racing fans in London, we’ll be able to bring sport and physical activity to even more young people in London’s most disadvantaged communities.”

StreetGames is a UK-based inclusive sports charity whose mission is to make sports more accessible to young people from the lowest socio-economic communities. Its moto is ‘Changing Sport, Changing Communities, Changing Lives’, and is a brilliant example of how sports can be utilised as a powerful tool for social change and increased wellbeing in young people.

StreetGames will be represented in the eVillage, where it will be running a series of fun activities including bubble football and ultimate frisbee for all to come and get involved in.
