Buenos Aires, Argentina. 11 Gennaio 2015. Il CEO della Formula E Alejandro Agag era felice con la reception che la serie ha ricevuto da parte degli appassionati tifosi argentini per la quarta gara della stagione, che si è svolta nelle strade di Buenos Aires.
Parlando dopo la gara ricca di azione, Agag ha dichiarato:
“Abbiamo avuto gare molto eccitanti finora, ma questa è stata semplicemente incredibile – sembrava una guerra con questi ragazzi in lotta per la vittoria. E ‘stato un bello spettacolo. Penso che gli spettatori di Buenos Aires sono stati fantastici, hanno preparato il posto e questo luogo era incredibile e abbiamo visto un’altra grande gara, quindi sono molto, molto felice”.
Una folla di circa 20 mila persone ha visto la gara, che è stata vinta da Antonio Felix da Costa dell’Amlin Aguri.
L’Argentina ha una ricca storia nell’automobilismo – e lo spirito del suo pilota più grande e più famoso era presente a Buenos Aires, con il presente che la Fondazione Juan Manuel Fangio ha consegnato ad Agag, una replica del trofeo del campionato del mondo del 1957.
La presentazione è stata fatta dal nipote di Fangio, l’ex campione IMSA Juan Manuel Fangio II.
“E’ bello essere qui in Argentina, che è un luogo dove c’è tanta storia delle corse ed essere qui è un premio ed è un grande onore per la Formula E”, ha detto Agag. “Juan Manuel Fangio – il cinque volte campione del mondo – ha usato cambiare auto nelle sue gare nel 1950. E questo è un grande esempio da dove la Formula E ha preso esempio, noi ora siamo probabilmente dove era la Formula 1 negli anni Cinquanta, stiamo iniziando un viaggio”.
Formula E ora entra in una pausa di metà stagione. L’azione riprende il 14 marzo con il Miami ePrix, la prima delle due gare negli Stati Uniti.
“Penso che correre negli Stati Uniti sarà fantastico”, ha detto Agag. “Penso che sia un grande mercato per le auto elettriche, e le sedi di Miami e Long Beach sono incredibili. Non vedo l’ora di fare queste due gare e spero che di fare un grande spettacolo anche là”.

Buenos Aires, Argentina. 11 Gennaio 2015. Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag was delighted with the reception the series received from the passionate Argentinian fans for round four of the series, held on the streets of Buenos Aires.
Speaking after the action-packed race, Agag said:
“We’ve been having very exciting races so far, but this one was just incredible – it was like a war at the end with these guys fighting for victory. It was a beautiful show. I think the spectators in Buenos Aires have been fantastic, they packed the place and this venue was amazing and we saw another great race, so I’m very, very happy.”
A sell-out crowd of around 20,000 attended the race, which was won by Antonio Felix da Costa of Amlin Aguri.
Argentina has a rich motor racing history – and the spirit of its greatest and most famous driver was present in Buenos Aires as the Juan Manuel Fangio Foundation presented Agag with a replica of his 1957 world drivers’ championship trophy. The presentation was made by Fangio’s nephew, former IMSA champion Juan Manuel Fangio II.
“It’s great to be here in Argentina, which is a place where so much history in racing and to get that award is a big honour for Formula E,” said Agag. “Juan Manuel Fangio – a five-time world champion – used to change cars in his races in the 1950s. And that’s a great illustration of where Formula E is, we are probably where Formula 1 was in the fifties, we are starting a journey.”
Formula E now enters a mid-season break. Action resumes on March 14 with the Miami ePrix, the first of two races in the USA.
“I think racing in the United States is going to be fantastic,” said Agag. “I think it’s a great market for electric cars, and the venues in Miami and Long Beach are amazing. I’m really looking forward to those two races and I hope we will put on a great show there.”
