Germania. 27 Gennaio 2016. La ricarica veloce è l’ultima tendenza nel settore degli EV. Mike Tinskey, direttore elettrificazione di Ford, segnala che è utile soprattutto quando si è i viaggio su percorrenze lunghe, ma è anche un importante obiettivo per l’uso quotidiano.

Se la batteria agli ioni di litio non è calda, si può avere fino al 80% di ricarica in soli 15 minuti, che è un tempo molto inferiore rispetto quello tipico della ricarica rapida.

Nonostante la significativa riduzione dei tempi di ricarica, la credenza comune è che il caricabatterie rapido DC possono provocare il degrado della batteria con un uso eccessivo a tassi elevati di potenza di 25 o 50 kW (o 120 kW per la rete Supercharge di Tesla).

Germany. 27 January 2016. Fast charging is the latest trend in the EV industry according to Mike Tinskey, Ford’s director of electrification.

It’s especially useful when undertaking road trips, but also important for everyday use. If the lithium ion battery isn’t overheated, it can get up to 80% of full charge in just 15 minutes, which is much more efficient than the typical charge time achieved through rapid charging. Learn more here.

Notwithstanding the significant reduction in charge times, common belief has it that DC fast chargers may result in battery degradation with overuse at high power rates of 25 or 50 kW (or 120 kW for Tesla’s Supercharging network).
