Punta del Este, Uruguay. 13 Dicembre 2014. L’ E.dams-Renault di Nicolas Prostè in cima alla classifica durante la prima sessione di prove libere della Formula E nel Punta del Este ePrix, facendo segnare un tempo di 1m 16s 696, verso la fine della sessione di 45 minuti baciata dal sole.
L’attuale leader del campionato Lucas di Grassi (Abt) ha stabilito dei primi benchmark di 1m 19s, ma i tempi ben presto cominciarono a cadere lasciando il francese come il più forte per ottenere la sua terza pole in tre gare durante la sessione di qualifiche di oggi (12:00 ora locale – 15.00 ora italiana) .
Michela Cerruti ha dovuto fermarsi 20 minuti dopo l’inizio per un testa coda alla curva 1, danneggiando il suo musetto. Il compagno di squadra Jarno Trulli ha avuto problemi nella stessa curva poco dopo il riavvio, ma ha recuperato per finire settimo, davanti a Bruno Senna (Mahindra) con il compagno di squadra Karun Chandhok a completare la top 10.
Seconda sessione di prove della giornata prenderà il via alle ore 10.30 (ora locale – 13.30 ora italiana).

Prost quickest in Punta del Este practice
E.dams-Renault’s Nicolas Prost topped the timesheets during the opening practice session for the Formula E Punta del Este ePrix, clocking a 1:16.696s towards the end of the sun-soaked 45-minute session.
Current championship leader Lucas di Grassi (Abt) laid down the early benchmark in the 1:19s but the times soon began to tumble leaving the Frenchman looking strong to secure his third pole from three races during today’s qualifying session (12:00 local time).
Di Grassi’s team-mate Daniel Abt finished second while the Brazilian ended the session 16th. Dragon Racing’s Jerome d’Ambrosio finished third ahead of Sebastien Buemi (e.dams-Renault) and Venturi’s Stephane Sarrazin.
Newcomer Jean-Eric Vergne (Andretti) finished an impressive P6 for his first timed session in a Formula E car with team-mate Matthew Brabham in ninth.
Michela Cerruti brought the session to a halt 20-minutes in after locking up and spinning at Turn 1, damaging her nose cone in the process. Team-mate Jarno Trulli also locked up at the same corner shortly after the restart but recovered to finish seventh, ahead of Bruno Senna (Mahindra) with team-mate Karun Chandhok rounding out the top 10.
The day’s second practice session gets underway at 10:30 am (local time).
