Long Beach, California. USA. 2 aprile 2016. Mahindra Formula E Racing lascia Long Beach con 22 punti validi per il campionato, il più grande bottino punti complessivi nella storia della squadra. A partire dalla quarta e la decima posizione rispettivamente, Nick Heidfeld e Bruno Senna hanno mostrato una buona gestione dell’energia e ritmo di gara per finire in quarta e quinta posizione rispettivamente.

Il risultato vede il team Mahindra Racing chiudere in modo significativo il divario con la squadra precedente. A cinque gare dalla fine, Mahindra Racing ha già superato i suoi punti totali dalla stagione inaugurale.

# 23 Nick Heidfeld ha dichiarato:

“Sono contento perché oggia abbiamo segnato il miglior risultato nella storia del team. Ancora più importante, penso che stiamo lavorando bene. Molto lavoro è stato fatto per raggiungere questo obiettivo di prestazioni e continueremo a spingere come una squadra per ottenere risultati migliori. Si tratta di un risultato molto positivo per noi ”

“Voglio ringraziare i tifosi per il loro sostegno nel voto che mi hanno fatto vincere il FanBoost. Dopo l’uscita della safety car ho usato il FanBoost per lottare per la terza posizione ma non c’era abbastanza per concludere. Sono grato a tutti coloro che mi hanno votato”.

# 21 Bruno Senna ha detto:

“Il tema della giornata è il progresso. Abbiamo avuto un impulso da Buenos Aires ed i risultati parlano da soli. La mia prima macchina era davvero impressionante oggi. Siamo stati molto efficienti e questo ci ha permesso di rispettare la nostra strategia e controllare la nostra gara”.

“Abbiamo provato alcune nuove soluzioni nella prima sessione di prove che non hanno funzionato così bene e abbiamo migliorato la vettura in modo significativo per la seconda sessione. La M2Electro è un pacchetto coerente, efficiente. Abbiamo avuto l’energia in mano per combattere con quelli intorno a noi e abbiamo azzeccato il pit-stop ancora una volta”.

Dilbagh Gill, Team Principal di Mahindra Formula E Racing Team, ha detto:

“Oggi posso dire che abbiamo raggiunto esattamente ciò che avevamo programmato di fare. Abbiamo spinto per sviluppare la vettura e riguadagnare il terreno che abbiamo perso in alcune gare recenti. Questo risultato dimostra che abbiamo costruito uno slancio nuovo. Aver raggiunto il nostro migliore risultato di sempre alla fine della gara è la ciliegina sulla torta. Non vedo l’ora di affrontare le gare europee e di continuare in questo ritmo di miglioramento e di progredire ulteriormente verso la parte anteriore della classifica.”

Best Ever Team Result for Mahindra Racing in Long Beach

Long Beach, California. USA. 2nd April 2016. Mahindra Racing Formula E Team leaves Long Beach with 22 Championship Points, the largest combined points haul in the Team’s history. Starting in P4 & P10 respectively, Nick Heidfeld and Bruno Senna showed strong energy management and race pace to finish in fourth and fifth position respectively.

The result sees the Mahindra Racing Team significantly closing the gap with the team ahead. With five races remaining, Mahindra Racing has already surpassed its total points tally from the inaugural season.

#23 Nick Heidfeld said:

“I am happy that we scored the best finish in the Team’s history today. Most importantly, I think we are progressing well. A lot of work has been done to achieve this performance and we will continue to push as a team for better results. This is a very positive result for us”

“I want to thank the fans for their support in voting for me to win FanBoost. After the safety car came in I used the FanBoost to fight for third position but it wasn’t quite enough to complete the move. I’m grateful to everyone who voted.”

#21 Bruno Senna said:

“The theme of the day is progress. We have gained momentum since Buenos Aires and the results speak for themselves. My first car was really impressive today. We were very efficient and this allowed us to stick to our strategy and control our race.”

“We tried some new solutions in the first practice session which didn’t work so well and we improved the car significantly for the second session. The M2Electro is a consistent, efficient package. We had energy in hand to battle with those around us and we nailed the pit stop once again.”

Dilbagh Gill, Team Principal of Mahindra Racing Formula E Team, said:

“Today I can say we achieved exactly what we planned to do. We have pushed to develop the car and regain the ground we lost in some recent races.

This result shows that we have built up that momentum again. To achieve our best ever finish in the process is the icing on the cake. I’m looking forward to the European races to continue this pace of improvement and progress further toward the front of the pack.”
