L’Automobile Club di Uruguay accoglie la Formula E in Sud America

Montevideo, Uruguay. 9 Dicembre 2015. I funzionari di governo, le autorità locali e l’Automobile Club di Uruguay (ACU) si sono riuniti a Montevideo per accogliere la Formula E per il secondo Julius Baer Punta del Este ePrix.

La vettura monoposto completamente elettrica era in mostra per i media riuniti presso la sede ACU a Montevideo prima della gara dell 19 Dicembre.

Alejandro Agag, amministratore delegato di Formula E, ha detto:

“Dopo il successo delle prime due gare della stagione non vediamo l’ora di arrivare a Punta del Este, una posizione bellissima e suggestiva per ospitare una gara di Formula E sulle spiagge del Sud America . Il circuito è uno dei più veloci del calendario ed i fan in Uruguay sono incredibilmente appassionati e competenti. Siamo grati per il continuo sostegno e la cooperazione dell’ACU e delle autorità locali per aiutare a organizzare un evento così fantastico”.

Jorge Tomasi, Presidente dell’Automobile Club di Uruguay, ha detto:

“Con la presidenza di Jean Todt in prima linea della FIA, uno dei settori che sono stati più sviluppati è la sinergia tra due delle aree che l’organo amministrativo ha; lo sport e la mobilità. A questo proposito, Formula E adempie perfettamente questo ruolo attraverso una serie che promuove sia la sostenibilità che l’ambiente”.

Martin Laventure, segretario dello Sport della Regione Maldonado, ha detto:

“Per essere in grado di organizzare questa seconda edizione della gara di Formula E a Punta del Este, dopo il successo della prima, significa fare un enorme sforzo per il Governo di Maldonado. A parte il lato sportivo, Formula E è molto legata agli investimenti nel rispetto dell’ambiente che l’Uruguay ed in particolare Maldonado stanno facendo. Mi auguro che tutti gli eventi e le attività che potremmo fare siano nella cornice di questo rispetto per l’ambiente”.

Alfredo Etchandy, Rappresentante del Ministero dello Sport dell’Uruguay, ha dichiarato:

“La gara di Formula E significa molto per il Ministero dello Sport, è una grande opportunità per salutare gli organizzatori di una serie di questo tipo, che sostiene il paese nel suo lato ecologico, nel turismo e nel lato sportivo. E’ un grande evento in una grande città e fa parte di un campionato mondiale. È senza dubbio molto importante per tutti”.

Punta del Este ospita il terzo round del FIA Formula E Championship ed è la prima tappa sudamericana della serie a cui seguirà il Buenos Aires ePrix il 6 Febbraio 2016.

Automobile Club of Uruguay welcomes Formula E to South America

Montevideo, Uruguay. December 9th, 2015. Government officials, local authorities and the Automobile Club of Uruguay (ACU) gathered in Montevideo to welcome Formula E for the second running of the Julius Baer Punta del Este ePrix.

The fully-electric single-seater car was on display for assembled media at the ACU headquarters in Montevideo ahead of the race on December 19.

Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E, said:

“Following the success of the opening two races of the season we are looking forward to arriving in Punta del Este, a beautiful and picturesque location to host a Formula E race on the beaches of South America. The circuit is one of the quickest on the calendar and the fans in Uruguay are incredibly passionate and knowledgeable. We are thankful for the continued support and co-operation of the ACU and the local authorities on helping us put on such a fantastic event.”

Jorge Tomasi, Chairman of the Automobile Club of Uruguay, said:

“From the presidency of Jean Todt at the forefront of the FIA, one of the areas that has been most developed is the synergy between two of the areas that the governing body has; sport and mobility. In this regard, Formula E fulfils perfectly this role through a series that promotes both sustainability and the environment.”

Martin Laventure, Secretary of Sports for the Maldonado Region, said:

“To be able to organise this second edition of the Formula E race in Punta del Este, after the success of the first one, meant a huge effort for the Maldonado Government. Apart from the sports side, Formula E is very linked to the investment in the respect for the environment that Uruguay and in particular Maldonado are doing. I hope all events and activities we could make will be in the frame with this respect for the environment.”

Alfredo Etchandy, Representative of the Sports Ministry of Uruguay, said:

“The Formula E race means a lot for the Sports Ministry, it’s a great opportunity to greet the organisers of a series of this nature, that supports the country on its ecological, tourism and sporting side. It’s a great event in a great city and it’s part of a global championship. It’s with no doubt very important for everybody.”

Punta del Este plays host to round three of the FIA Formula E Championship and is the first stop on the South American leg of the series with the Buenos Aires ePrix on February 6 2016.
