Londra, Gran Bretagna. 8 dicembre 2014. La Formula E ha ricevuto il prestigioso premio Pioneering e Innovation Award nei famosi Awards di Autosport.
Tenutasi a Londra, nel cinque stelle Grosvenor House Hotel, il primo campionato del mondo di monoposto elettriche si unisce una lista illustre dei vincitori del premio, tra cui il sistema di barriere SAFER, il dispositivo di sicurezza del conducente HANS e la Nissan GT Academy.
L’evento è una delle serate più celebri nel calendario motoristico attirando un gran numero di stelle del motorsport del passato e del presente, tra cui il neo Campione del Mondo di Formula Uno Lewis Hamilton.
Il CEO della Formula E Alejandro Agag che ha ritirato il premio, ha dichiarato:
“E’ un grande onore di ricevere questo premio. Molte persone del motorsport, quando abbiamo iniziato con la Formula E, non pensavano che avremmo fatto nemmeno la prima gara. Annunciare che stavamo facendo un campionato con vetture che allora non esistevano è stata una vera sfida. Ma dopo la prima gara a Pechino, tutto ha funzionato. Eravamo di più di una cosa strana, senza rumore, con l’essere completamente elettrica. Ma abbiamo avuto tanto aiuto da parte del mondo del motorsport”.
La prossima gara di Formula E si svolgerà il prossimo weekend in Uruguay nella suggestiva Punta del Este il Sabato 13 di dicembre.

London, United Kingdom. December 8 2014. The FIA Formula E Championship was awarded the prestigious Pioneering and Innovation Award at the world-famous AUTOSPORT Awards last night
Held at London’s five star Grosvenor House Hotel, the world’s first all-electric single-seater championship joins an illustrious list of winners of the Award, which include the SAFER barrier system, the HANS driver safety device and the Nissan GT Academy.
The black tie event is one of the most celebrated evenings in the motorsport calendar attracting a host of past and present motorsport stars including newly-crowned Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton.
Formula E’s CEO Alejandro Agag who accepted the award said:
“It is a huge honour to be receiving this award. Many people in motorsport, when we started Formula E, didn’t think we would make the first race. To announce we were doing a championship with cars that didn’t then exist was a real challenge. But after that first race in Beijing, everything worked. We were a bit of a strange thing, with no noise, with being all-electric. But we’ve had so much help from the world of motorsport.”
